TWO!!!

Luke finally had his two year check up.

25 lbs, 34.5 inches tall, 19 inch head circumference

The doctor said he looked good and healthy. The tubes in his ears look great and he's on track with his development. And he said that he's one good looking guy! Just look at him!

We Are Rich!

M is for MONEY at preschool! I took lots of pictures but they have been lost in an unfortunate accident and these are what I'm left with from our awesome day.

We read My M Box and made the letter M out of dollar bills (straight from the dollar store) and practiced writing M in our workbook.

We read A Chair for My Mother. It is about a family who saves all their change to buy a new chair after they lose everything in a fire. We went over the different types of coins and sorted them. Then we worked in our new sorting workbooks.

We read Curious George Saves His Pennies where George saves money to buy a new toy. Then we played toy store. The toys had price tags and they had to count out their money to buy them. We worked in our number workbooks and then made a favorite things collage for our All About Me theme. It was another successful day!

A Visit to Will and Bethany

We were able to visit Will and Bethany! They live near San Antonio, so they took us to see some sights. We walked along the beautiful San Antonio River Walk.

Saw the tallest man in the world at Ripley's Believe It or Not.

And paid homage at the Alamo. It was very busy since there was a Veteran's Day parade and ceremony going on.

They modeled coonskin caps.

Luke LOVES "Beth-ny" and wanted to be with her most of the time we were there.

We also went to the park. Will and Bethany are lots of fun to play with.

We also were able to see the town where they live, go to church with them and Bethany made us yummy food. We had a great time and are grateful for their hospitality!

We printed out pictures of Jack, Luke, Mommy and Daddy, grandparents, and even got the great grandparents!!

It turned out super cute and was lots of fun!!!

Leaping Letters

My creative juices were not flowing for the letter L, but I eventually decided to do L is for LETTERS!!!

We read My L Sound Box and played a letter review memory game.

We read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, about letters climbing up the coconut tree. Then we drew our own tree in the driveway and added the letters.

They decorated L's with foam letters.

For our counting activity, I printed out kindergarten high frequency words plus some long words and their names and people they love's names. They had to count the number of letters in each word and glue it in the correct box.

We read Bunny Mail, then wrote letters to people. We also worked on more and less and in our All About Me workbooks.

Down on the Farm

For our field trip this week we went to CM Farms to the corn maze.

We went on Saturday this week since it's closed on Fridays.

We met up with our fun friends.

And saw just how much we've grown!

We dug in the tubs of corn.

Climbed and climbed

Until Jack and Luke were kings of the mountain.

They jumped and jumped and jumped on the big pillow

Pumped water for the duck races

Saw cows

Chickens

And pigs

They bounced on horses.

And rode the animal train all by themselves. They weren't even scared, even when they went in the corn maze without me.

Luke is just too cute

He climbed through tunnels.

We went through the kids corn maze where you followed the story of Spookely the Square Pumpkin.

After lunch the kids played checkers.

But they were all pretty worn out so we knew it was time to head home after a fun filled day.
