Stair Master

Jack conquered something very major at Nana and PopPop's -

THE STAIRS!

Since we don't have stairs at our house, he's never really experienced them.

He quickly mastered climbing UP the stairs.

He only fell twice.

And by the time we were coming home, he had figured out how to go DOWN.

This skill has served him well at home, since he can now get off of our bed on his own...

And anywhere else he's decided to climb up.

Where A Kid Can Be A Kid

We went to Chuck E Cheese on our vacation and had a great time.
Unfortunately Dallin and his mom weren't able to come.
(They were off in the middle of Texas rescuing his Grandpa)

Jack rode some rides, although he was a little cautious.
He ate lots of pizza.
He helped Mom play skee-ball.
His cousins let him get a football and a frisbee with their tickets.
But his favorite part -
Dancing to the music when Chuckie came out.
He really got his groove on.
Go, Jack, Go, Jack

Boys Will Be Boys

On our trip, the boys were able to go out and do some manly things.

*One day they all (plus Mandy) went paintballing. Dallin came back with an amazing amount of welts. They all looked great in their swimsuits with welts all over their backs.

*Another day they went to the shooting range and had a great time. They got some awesome shots (as pictured above. Thanks to Andrew for letting me steal some pics)

*On our last day they went deep sea fishing in the Gulf and caught some delicious speckled sea trout. It was so yummy when they fried it up when they got home.

Not to worry, they did let the girls get pedicures one day, so we didn't feel too left out.

Father's Day/Mission Talk/Blessing Day

Sunday was a busy day on our trip.

First of all, it was Father's Day.
Jack had already given his daddy his present before he left (a grill),
but he still gave him a card and hugs and playtime.

Elder Coffman also did an awesome job giving his mission homecoming talk in Church.
Plus beautiful baby Briley was blessed.
What a special day!

Take Me Out To The Ballgame

On the Friday that we were in Houston, we were able to go see the Astros play.
Unfortunately, they lost, but we had fun anyway.

Jack heading into the game.
It's his first major league game.

"I love baseball"

This was the happiest he was all day.
He had his first taste of hot dog and liked the cheering.
Sadly, he got tired, so he, Nana, and I headed home a little early and missed the fireworks.
I'm not sure how well he would have enjoyed them, but I guess we'll find out next week for the 4th.

Savannah and Cami had fun tasting all the great baseball game food - hot dogs, snow cones, popcorn. Yum, yum!

Little Fishy

Jack had a ton of fun swimming at Nana and PopPop's house.
We went swimming almost everyday.

He loved getting thrown and especially liked the times that Daddy was out with him.

When he wasn't swimming, he was climbing out of the pool to follow PopPop around the backyard. He loves PopPop!! He like to help him with the hose and picking stuff up.

We Heart Cousins

Jack had the best time playing with his cousins while he was at Nana and PopPop's house.

He loved giving the girls kisses.
Here he and Savannah were just about to kiss and hug.
He would just hang off of the girls.

Jack loved hanging out with Cami.
She would sing and he would dance to her singing.
Whenever he saw her somewhere, he would have to make a beeline straight for her.

He also loved meeting baby Briley.
Whenever he heard her cry, he would go in search of her.
He was desperate to touch her and look at her.

Jack wishes he got to play with his cousins everyday!

Welcome Home, Elder Coffman

We spent the last week and a half in Houston to welcome home Dallin's brother Andrew from his mission.
Jack made a poster and was very excited to meet his Uncle Andrew. This was their first time meeting!

Excited cousins waiting for Uncle Andrew at the airport!

Here he comes!

"Do you remember me?"

Nice to meet you, Uncle Andrew!

After being released by the Stake President, Elder Coffman celebrated by jumping in the pool, suit and all!

We're very excited to have him home and so proud of what a great missionary he was. Now we're looking forward to when he comes back to Provo for school!

11 Months!

Just one month left until Jack's 1st birthday! How can time have possible gone by so fast?

Jack is a busy little man. He does a little bit of walking, but is still the fastest crawler in the West, so he prefers to crawl since he knows it gets him there faster.

Jack is the pickiest little eater you'll ever meet. One day he'll love something and gobble it right up, and then the next day he wants nothing to do with it. It drives me crazy when he puts it in his mouth and then spits it right out again.

Jack now has 4 teeth (2 on top, 2 on bottom) and has been working on a fifth tooth for the last few weeks.
Jack loves to stand up and see everything. He wants to be involved in anything and everything we do.

Jack still doesn't sleep through the night. We've had more good nights (waking up twice a night), than bad nights lately though. He takes two naps a day.

Jack loves to be outside and has already got a nice tan, despite all the sunscreen I put on him. He loves swimming and playing at the park.

Jack hates riding in the car or being confined in anyway. He loves to be on the go and can't stand carseats or strollers or anything else holding him back.

Jack has the cutest smile and loves to help Mommy and Daddy. We can't believe how quickly he's growing and we love him so much!!

10 Years

Ten years ago today I graduated from high school!

Crazy how time flies...but I feel like a lot has been accomplished in those 10 years.

*graduated from college

*taught for 5 years

*married a wonderful man

*had a beautiful baby boy

While I may skip the reunion, it's still fun to think that 10 whole years have passed.

10 good years...

Like Father, Like Son

Today I found Jack in the cupboard and it reminded me of this picture of his daddy...

Like father, like son

Two Jacks Are Better Than One

Today Jack and I met up with my former roommate, Shelley, and her kids, including her little boy...JACK! He's about 6 months older than our Jack and also very cute.

We played at the park and had lunch together.

They had fun swinging on the swings together.

You know what they say - two Jacks are always better than one!

Walking on Sunshine

Jack took his first two steps last night.

Mommy, who is always with him, was not in the room.

Daddy got to witness the big moment.

Hopefully Mommy will see it soon!

(And she'll take some video when she does!)

The Biggest Loser

Dallin and I are currently in the middle of our own personal weight loss challenge.

We've been eating better (as you can see by our whole wheat English muffin, cheese, turkey sausage, and banana breakfast that Dal so beautifully arranged). We've also been doing some P90X and a lot of walking.

The results thus far have been great.

As of Saturday, June 5

Dallin has lost 14 lbs since April 26

Megan has lost 10 lbs since April 26, and 51 lbs. since July 22 (the day Jack was born!)

And there's definitely more to lose!!

The Artist

Jack is a very artistic eater...he loves to smear everything all over the tray, himself, and his clothes.

Water Baby

Jack and I got season passes to the water park, Seven Peaks.

We each had to get our picture taken to put on our cards and Jack is part of the Tadpole Club.

I had to put a picture of his card up because it's so stinkin' cute to see his picture on a little card.

Yesterday we went for the first time and Jack had the time of his life!

He loved playing and splashing and floating with Mommy.

Sorry, no pictures this time, but I'll take some when we go next, because we all know we'll be back very, very frequently this summer.

Then today we got an invite from Jack's friend Addie to play in her new kiddie pool...

We couldn't resist another dip in the pool, so we headed over.

And of course we had tons of fun playing there...too bad the camera battery died after two pictures.

Thanks, Hailey and Addie for inviting us!!

Now Jack's getting excited to visit Nana and PopPop and to swim in their pool!

PS Happy Birthday, Nana!

Gross!

Jack has a disgusting fascination with trash cans.

He crawls as fast as he can to try to get into any trash can around.

Most of our trash cans are now up on counters.

Except for the kitchen trash.

And that one is terribly exciting because the lid goes up and down.

Do I have a future garbage man on my hands?

Memorial Day '10

Jack was very excited to celebrate his first Memorial Day.

We headed out to the cemetery to help Dallin work.

Jack assisted his dad in looking up locations for those who didn't know where to go to find graves. He was very helpful.

We had lunch out there and then headed home for a nap.

Once Dallin got home, we took a long walk, got some frozen yogurt, and then visited Donny and Andrea.

I think Jack had a great first Memorial Day.
