Good Like That

Jack was busy earlier today.

First, he got into the tortilla chips. He threw them on the ground, then stomped all over them so that they were little crumbs. But he immediately got the broom to clean it up.

He's just good like that.

Then, moments later, as I was loading the dishwasher, he got out the ice cream scoop from last night and licked any remaining ice cream that was there.

Yeah, he's just good like that.

Fun Fall Saturdays

If you been a reader around here, you'll know that every year we take a trip up the canyon to drive the Alpine Loop each fall. This was the 4th Annual Coffman Alpine Loop Adventure.

This year we rode on Dallin's motorcycle and got an even better view of the changing leaves.

We stopped at our favorite spot and took our annual picture.
On our way back to Provo, we stopped for a yummy lunch at the Purple Turtle.

Meanwhile, back in Provo, Jack hung out with his uncles while Mommy and Daddy were on their date.

He felt left out last week because he didn't have the "uniform" that the uncles wear - BYU shirt and khaki shorts. So we got him a shirt and dressed him so that he fit right in. He ate Cougar Cakes (and tried to eat hair mousse too!) and had a great time with the uncles.

We finished out the day watching the BYU game, although that's a disappointment we won't talk about right now.

All in all, it was a great fall Saturday!

Too Big For HIs Britches, Part 2

Look who figured out how to climb on the table...

And is very excited about it!

(Hint - Mommy is not the one excited about it)

Too Big For His Britches

Jack must have grown a bit in the last few weeks because he's just a little too tall for my liking and his safety.

He seems to be getting into more trouble lately and hurting himself.

On Tuesday, I unfortunately discovered he can now reach a little farther onto the bathroom sink. He reached up and got the cord to my hair straightener and pulled it down. He has a little burn on his poor thumb.

Then today he climbed up on a chair all by himself - and then promptly rolled right off, hitting his poor eye. Now my poor little man has his first black eye. Well, it's more red at this point, but it's still sad.

I guess I have to keep an even CLOSER eye on my little busybody!

Mix It All Together

After seeing what a good little cook Jack is while he was with his uncles, I decided to try baking cookies with my little man. He was very good at pouring in the ingredients. They all made it into the bowl (with a little help from Mom, of course).
Jack really wanted to lick the bowl, but instead settled for putting his fingers in the empty measuring cup. Just as good, right?
He got a little nervous once I turned the mixer on, but was soon fascinated by it.

While we waited for our cookies to bake, we danced to the Glee soundtrack (that's Jack's favorite).

I think our first attempt at baking together turned out pretty well!

Keep Voting!

Just a reminder

Don't forget to keep voting for Jack on the Beautiful Babies contest (link is on the right)!

He is doing really well, but is still not in the lead, despite being the cutest baby.

You can vote once a day per email address.

Thanks to all of you faithful voters out there!

Jack appreciates his fans

While Daddy's Away...

Dallin has been gone since Thursday night enjoying this...

He's been at Yellowstone for a field trip.

So Jack and I have been trying to entertain ourselves at home.

On Thursday afternoon, we went to a fun park and watched the ducks.
We wished we had brought bread.

There was also a cool fountain and fun swings to play on.

After that, we stopped of for some shave ice and tried out a tasty new flavor - red raspberry.
We ended up with very red mouths (sorry, no pics).

Jack decided we needed to get up at 5:30am on Friday morning, so we got some yummy bagels

We also went to the library for story time.
They did a puppet show with teddy bears to the song "Teddy Bear Picnic."
Jack loved it!
He pushed his way to the front, waved his hands in the air, screamed in delight, and danced, just like he was at a concert.
So we had to stay for the second showing, of course.
And it was just as fun.

We went to the BYU Botany pond to feed the ducks.
This time we remembered bread.
The ducks weren't in the pond.
Instead, they were sitting under the sprinklers.
So we risked getting wet to feed them
Very cool.

Jack also did some climbing and playing.

This morning Jack went to hang out with the uncles.

I hear that he...
ate Cougar Cakes
had a dance party
floated his boat in the stream
shaved his whiskers
moussed his hair
issued a few church callings

He had a great time.

Only a couple more hours and Dallin should be home.

Boy, did we miss him!

Caution: Baby at Work

Jack loves visiting Daddy at work because Daddy puts him to work.
Last week we went twice and the first time we were there, Daddy let him sit on the back hoe with him. Jack was in heaven and fascinated by everything Daddy did.

The next day, as soon as we got there, Jack took off straight to the backhoe, of course.

He feels like he owns the thing now and of course wanted to ride in it again.

Here he is examining it.
He ended up with grease on his hands from working on it.
Luckily he has a very nice Daddy who cleaned him up and let him get back in again.

I think Daddy should take Jack to work everyday!

High on a Mountain Top

This weekend we took a family hike up in Rock Canyon.
If you remember last year we hiked up there when Jack was just a month old.
While Jack has more than doubled in size and is just about outgrown his carrier, it is still just as beautiful.
We enjoyed the lovely views.
Notice the leaves changing in the background. (I don't know if I'm quite ready for fall - that means winter is around the corner)
We also loved seeing the lake too.

Jack did some collecting along the way.
He got a beautiful purple flower that he clutched for a very long time.
He wouldn't let go to show us for the picture.
He also collected some acorns that were so fun to throw and then pick up again.

We then went to Rock Canyon Park and had a picnic.
Jack enjoyed feeding us grapes.
Don't we live in the lap of luxury?
After some fun and silly playing, Jack was exhausted and headed home for a good, long nap!

Hotel Coffman

Housekeeping at Hotel Coffman, changing the sheets

We have had a lot of visitors stay at Hotel Coffman over the last month. Dallin's mom and brother, my brother, sister, and cousin, all have stayed at least one night (some longer) over the last little while. Jack has been busy entertaining his visitors, changing sheets, and washing towels to keep up with our guests. But it's all worth it to have such fun at Hotel Coffman! So if you would like to make a reservation, please contact Jack!

The Littlest Gardener

Jack has been helping harvest some of our veggies at the garden. He is a big fan of the tomato plants. And he's a fan of a certain color of tomato. Do you see which color?

GREEN

Yes, Jack is picking all the green tomatoes for me. What a great little helper!
