PreK

Luke started PreK!

He was very excited and his first day went really well. He even said he liked his teacher better than Mommy!

On the second day he and Jack wore their matching spirit shirts.

Jack is in charge of walking him to class and getting him at the end of the day for pickup.

There have been a few bumps but hopefully Luke will settle in nicely to school life!

And Then There Were Two

PreK doesn't start until the week after the big kids, so we had a few days with just Luke and Kate at home.

Luke was very calm and peaceful all week. He played cars, helped me walk the dog and cuddled. It made it bittersweet to send my sweet boy to school. He's always been the kid that has needed me the most. But it's time for him to start on his next chapter.
At least I've got this cute face home for awhile longer!

I Love To See the Temple

We were lucky to make a quick trip to Houston to go to the temple.

Nana met us and we stayed Friday night in a hotel. On Saturday morning, we went to the temple while Nana and the kids went to IHOP and Chuckie Cheese. We met up for lunch at Chik Fil A before heading our separate ways to go home. It was such a blessing to go to the temple! Thank you Nana!

Second Grade

Jack started second grade! He was both excited and anxious about the start of school. So much, that he woke up at 3am on the first day. His teacher is Mrs Stutes. This year he also tested into the gifted program, so he will go to Spark class one day a week for most of the day. They do a lot of fun enrichment activities. Jack sometimes struggles with change, but he is slowly settling into the new routine. This should be a great year!

The Final Days of Summer

As our summer came to a close, we tried to make the most of it.

We built a lot of Legos

Saw The Secret Life of Pets at the theater.

Swam, swam, and then swam some more.

Had a fun outing to the trampoline park with our friends.

And did all of our back to school shopping.

It was a fun summer. Now onto the structure of school again!

On the Road Again

It was a long two days driving home. We decided to take a different route and ended up seeing far more of New Mexico than we had hoped.

Road construction added hours to our drive. We finally arrived in Amarillo at 2am, then drove the rest of the way home.

Breakfast of Champions

Before we hit the road, we loaded up at the breakfast buffet. The boys kept track of the time with their new watches.

We got our last hugs from Gramp.

And took turns holding Russ.

We had so much fun seeing family and had an awesome trip!

Laughlin - Day 4

Our numbers were fewer for our final day since the aunties and company went home, but we still had fun

We played more on the shore

And had fun on the boat

Luke braved the tube on his own and loved it.

Jack learned how to do the most important job

Gramp even gave the boys driving lessons.

We went cove hopping where you find different coves and jump in to cool off.

It was so refreshing!

Poor Kate slept through most of it, but joined us at the end.

Our final day on the lake was awesome. We couldn't leave though without a dinner at In N Out and a trip to The Watch Man!

Laughlin Day 3

Wednesday was the hottest day of the trip, topping off at 122 degrees.

Luke couldn't get enough of the boat

And Kate enjoyed her own boat jumping.

Everybody had fun floating out to sea or as far out as they felt brave enough.

Kate won over Aunt Nee Nee's heart with her funny personality.

Jack had fun building and digging in the sand.

Luke thought it was hilarious to pour water in Gramp's lap and say that he set his pants.

I tried water skiing after many years. I didn't stay up long, but just long enough to prove I could still do it.

That night the kids went to see Ice Age and the grown ups celebrated Whitney's birthday at The Prime Rib Room.

Laughlin Day 2

We had an awesome second day on the lake.

There were lots of sand castles

And floating around to cool off.

Kate and I got matching braids done by Aunt Shari.

The water was perfect!

That night we went out to Mexican food.

And a fun game of bowling.

Wolfe enjoys bowling and kept coaching the boys on how to be their best.

Notice Wolfe won the kids game and Megan won overall!
