Our First Day at Home
Today was our first day home from the hospital and we had our ups and downs.
Jack had his first wellness check up and his bilirubin checked, which is a little high.
He's been having struggles today eating (or rather, waking up to eat) and making a bowel movement.
Fortunately things are looking up. After causing Mom and Dad much stress all day, he woke up and started eating again and then came the huge explosion. I never thought I'd be so happy to see poop. My how things have changed! Jack seems to be feeling a lot better now.
P.S. Thanks, Liz, for the tip to get him to eat and poop. It really worked!
Here are some pics throughout the day

38 1/2 Weeks

This is the last preggo pic I'm planning on posting, since I would like to have this baby sometime soon. Last night Dallin and I took the advice and went out to dinner and a movie. That means I actually got out of my hideous stretchy pants and put some make up on, so I thought I would take the last pic while I look somewhat decent. It's hard being 9 months pregnant when it's 100 degrees outside!

The Last Days
If you notice the countdown to the left, you'll see that we are in our final days before baby comes. Who knows when he'll make his appearance?
We've prepared his room. He has his sleeping arrangements - crib and bassinet.
He has a place to get cleaned up and get snuggled and rocked.

He has a place to get cleaned up and get snuggled and rocked. He has lots of books to read (that's what you get when Mommy is a teacher) and a window to gaze out of.

He's ready to travel in style too. He's got this sweet ride. And Daddy already has his car seat all strapped in the car and ready to go.

There are still some things that I want to put on the walls, including the wooden block letters spelling out his name. Unfortunately, the store was all out of A's, and well, his name just wouldn't look right without it's only vowel. Hopefully soon we'll get to that.

We are getting very excited, especially Dallin. He sometimes calls to see if I'm having contractions or if my water has broken. He is ready to hold his baby.
I have moments of energy and then am super tired. Sleeping is kind of hit and miss. This morning I woke up at 6am, wide awake. I've been busy doing laundry and cleaning up around the house. But then I'm sure by about 2pm, I'll be so dead that I can barely get off the couch.
So all you mommies out there - is there anything you would recommend doing in our last days before parenthood? Anything that is too big a struggle once there's a baby that we should do before it gets too tough?

We had a great 4th of July. Here are some of the ways we celebrated:
Dallin spent some time patrolling the parade route to make sure people weren't camping out. I loved his bright orange shirt.

On the 4th, we rode our bikes down to the Provo Freedom Festival. Dallin test-drove a segway.

And looked at some classic cars before samping some tasty tri-tip sandwiches.

Then we sent these very excited girls off to Stadium of Fire to see the Jonas Brothers. One of my favorite moments of the day was when we got home from the Freedom Festival and the girls could hear the Jo Bros sound checking at the stadium. They started screaming and jumping up and down before they took off running over there to watch them from behind the fence. Needless to say, they enjoyed their time at Stadium of Fire.

July, July, July
If you've been a long time reader of my blog (like been reading for a WHOLE YEAR), you might remember that I really like the month of July. If you want to learn more about why, go here : http://dalmegcoffman.blogspot.com/2008/07/i-heart-july.html
My most favorite holiday: 4th of July. Fireworks, parades, bbq's, could it get any better?

But wait - it can get better! This year these crazy girls (aka my sister Whitney and her roommates Roxanne and Andrea) are coming to stay with us for part of the weekend. They have tickets to see the Jonas Brothers at Stadium of Fire and we are the perfect hotel since we live so close!

Then, in just two more weeks, this amazing elder returns from his mission in Spain. Sadly, I won't be able to be there when he returns, but I am excited to talk to him and hear more about the mission.
Soon I won't look like this anymore and I might even be able to bend over again!
Celebrate Good Times
Saturday night the wonderful second grade teachers that I worked with threw me a baby shower.
Julie hosted it at her house and it was so fun meeting with friends...
Ann, Chelcie, and CamilleWe also played fun games...
In this game, Andrea measured how big around my stomach is and then everyone else made their guess with string. Unfortunately, everyone seemed to think I was bigger than I was. Helen was the winner (as she seemed to win most games), but she had a leg up because she's due two weeks after me and could measure her stomach. We also played a memory game and tried to remember what baby items were on the tray. And then there was a baby trivia game about Dallin and I as babies. I found out an interesting fact - Dallin and I both weighed exactly the same at birth (8 lbs, 2oz).We ate delicious food...
