Between the April Showers

We've had a lot of rain this month. Like about 10 inches more than our average April rainfall. But between all the showers, we've managed to fit in lots of park trips and fun in the yard. The outdoors bring smiles to little faces!

10 Months

Kate the Great is TEN months old!

She's a busy little gal who loves to be outside. She loves exploring the backyard and loves the dog and riding in the wagon.

At her most recent checkup, she weighed in at 16 lbs 13 oz and was 28.25 inches long.

She follows in her brothers' footsteps and loves riding the four wheeler. They give her rides and she smiles and waves like she's in a parade.

Since she's a speedy crawler, she loves to get into everything and make messes everywhere. Her favorite place to crawl is onto the treadmill. She climbs up and is very proud of the fact that she can get down now by herself.

She's usually pretty cheerful, but since she's getting her top teeth, she's been chewing on everything. On our walks she's chewed so much she's fallen asleep while doing it.

She loves to eat bananas, pears, green beans, cheese, yogurt melts, veggie straws, and waffles.

There is still the mutual love between Kate and her brothers. She enjoys teasing them by getting into their stuff now. Luckily they can never get too upset at her.

We love our little cutie! We can't believe she's been with us for ten whole months!

Chickity Chick

We now have chickens! Our chicks arrived Easter night - twelve total!

Dallin built this amazing chicken coop and the boys are excited about helping.

It looks like there are a few roosters in the bunch, but we will definitely have lots of eggs in a few months!

Bluebonnet Babes

The bluebonnets were in bloom while we were in Texas so we searched for a field to take some pics. Jack's feet got wet, so he was too upset to have his picture taken. But I love this picture of my little two in the bluebonnets. For the record, he is not kissing her; he is licking her. He's such a goof!

Water Babies

The kids LOVE Nana and Pop Pop's pool. We swam every single day we were there. Even if we'd been busy all day, we still managed to fit in an evening swim before bedtime.

Jack swam all over and was jumping frm the hot tub to the freezing pool over and over.

Luke got a lot more comfortable especially now that he has the cool new floaty.

We even had Carter over for a swim one day.

We can't wait for our next swim at Nana and Pop pop's house!

Sea World

Another part of our Spring Break adventures was a trip to Sea World with Nana. Our first stop was the rides. Luke was determined that he was going to ride a roller coaster. They were both nervous as we waited in line.

Each ride got a little less scary and Luke felt like quite the big boy.

We had another fun round of carousel rides.

We saw some awesome shows like Pets Ahoy and Shamu's One Ocean.

It was a very warm day so we cooled off with ice cream and lots of frozen lemonade.

And a trip to the splash pad.

It was fun until we couldn't find Luke. Those were the scariest 10 minutes ever until he turned up on the complete opposite end of the splash pad.

We rounded out our day with more roller coaster rides and somehow made it home in time to swim until bedtime!

Zoo Adventures

For Spring Break we went to San Antonio to visit Nana and Pop Pop. On our first day we went to the San Antonio Zoo!

We were excited to have Aunt Bethany and Carter join us too.

We had fun seeing all the animals. They had a great butterfly room, a cool aquarium, and lots of fun zoo animals.

They even had a carousel to ride!

It was all fun and games until Carter took a spill out of his runaway stroller. He's a tough guy and took the scratches and bruises in stride.

All day long all Luke could talk about was riding the train. Since it was located outside the zoo, we waited until after we were done inside. That made Lukey crazy! But it was all worth it when he discovered it was called The LUKEY Train.

He was much happier on the train.

It was a fun and exciting zoo day!

Easter

At 5:30 I heard little voices talking excitedly and doors opening and closing. Two little boys were very excited about the Easter bunny.

He came and left treasures in their baskets.

Swimsuits, towels and candy!

And eggs were hidden all over the house, filled with candy!

Luke may have had a chocolate bunny for breakfast.

Don't they look great in their new swimsuits?

We also watched General Conference. They did their conference parking lots again. I had forgotten and they were upset with me, so I did a quick makeshift parking lot for each boy.

They also built temples with their Legos.

We had a tasty dinner of ham, cheesy potatoes, rolls and strawberry shortcake for dessert.

It was a nice, low key Easter for us this year.
