Crazy, Crazy

The next few weeks are going to be CRAZY around here...

We are MOVING this week.  

I feel kind of useless since I am limited in a lot of the things I can do.

Luckily my mother-in-law is coming to town to help.

The next week is TESTING at school.

It's what we've been working for all year and I know my kids know their stuff.

But it still really stresses me out.

I hope they can do their best.

To top it off, I've been sick most of this week.

I thought it was a flu bug, but it seems to be hanging on.

There's a part of me that's afraid that morning sickness is back.

NO, NO, NO!

What A Difference A Week Makes

Last week these babies were covered in a foot of snow and I despaired that they were lost for the year.

Now they are blooming and blossoming all over the place...

Those Embarrassing Slippers!

I currently own two pair of slippers.  One pair looks like the set above, except in green.  My wonderful fuzzy green slippers.  My brother mocked me when I asked for them for Christmas one year, saying they were just like shag carpet.  But I truly enjoy my fuzzy green slippers.

As previously noted, my feet have been rather tired as of late.  So I decided to bring my extra pair of slippers to school to slip on when I needed a little extra comfort.  

You'll never believe the hooting and hollering I heard upon donning my big balls of green comfort.

"YOU HAVE SLIPPERS ON!  YOU HAVE GREEN SLIPPERS ON!"

Those words could be heard pouring out of 23 little mouths in Room 169 today.  After promising that I would only wear them in the classroom and take them off immediately if any outsider entered the room, I was permitted to continue wearing them.

We did pretty well most of the day, until my Room Mom stopped in to ask a question.  I FORGOT TO TAKE OFF THE SLIPPERS!!  As I was talking to her, I suddenly hear little voices whispering, "Slippers...slippers...slippers."

To appease my humiliated class, I quickly discarded my slippers.  Fortunately my wonderful Room Mom played along and pretended she hadn't noticed that I had once been wearing fuzzy green slippers and was now barefoot.  My students can still walk the halls without hanging their heads in shame and embarrassment.  

Let's hope and pray that this awful teacher does not forget to take of THOSE SLIPPERS AGAIN!

Back to the Grind

Spring Break is over.  

While part of me was excited to get back to work and really focus and make that big push to get ready for the end of the year, after a day back, I AM EXHAUSTED!

My back aches, my feet are swollen, and my eyes are burning.  Hopefully my body will readjust to school again and stop expecting that afternoon nap I was giving it every day last week.

I also think I need to start training.  State Testing is in 2 weeks.  During the test, I have to walk up and down the rows monitoring.  We did some practice testing today for 20 minutes.  My back has never been so sore!  I think I need to step up those back exercises a bit to prep myself for the test.  

100 Days To Go

Today we've hit the 100 day mark, if you check out the counter to the left.

Almost into the double digits.

That means 100 more days to get bigger and more uncomfortable. I've heard some great things about the third trimester...haha!

After our doctor's appointment this morning, things looked good and everyone is growing at the right pace.

So here's to 100 more days until the arrival of our boy!

Rexburg or Bust

On Thursday, I set off with my dad and Whitney for an adventurous trip to Rexburg, Idaho. Whitney was headed back to school for another semester, so I tagged along for the ride. We had a rollicking good time and fortunately the weather was great once you got past the point of the mountain. We helped Whitney bring her stuff to her apartment and then took her and her roommate grocery shopping, as you can tell from the picture above.

Sadly, after dropping Whitney off, my dad and I had a little mishap on the roads of Rexburg when a teenager wasn't paying attention and rammed into the back of the car behind us, pushing her into us, and pushing us into the car in front of us. Luckily nobody was hurt and the car had minimal damage (the same can't be said for the poor lady behind us. Her car was a mess). I got to sit in the ambulance and get checked out. It was very exciting! My parent's car doesn't have much damage, so we were able to drive home without any more mishaps.

Things are never boring in Rexburg!

I looked out the window and what did I see?

There was a foot of snow covering my apricot tree and everything else!!

This must be Mother Nature's idea of a very sick April Fool's Joke.

Bring back spring!!

A Little of This, A Little of That

I realized last night that there were several things that I forgot to include in my "Spoiled" post. Our little guy also received a cute outfit for church, a relaxing outfit, and two precious pairs of shoes.

My poor windows! After being washed and scrubbed so well, the silly weather had to come and spot them. It's been raining for the last 24 hours and those raindrops are beginning to look a little thick, almost resembling snowflakes. Yes, they have said snow for tomorrow. But I will remain in a state of denial. It's Spring Break - it's supposed to be warm!!

Monday morning we had another ultrasound. At our last ultrasound, our little cutie had his hand over his mouth, so they wanted to be sure that he had lips. Yes, he does have lips and looks healthy. The sad thing - I brought a DVD to record it, but only one shot actually transferred onto the DVD. And it wasn't even a good shot - just one of his ear! I was very upset on Monday over this (I'm sure pregnancy hormones had nothing to do with it, haha) because I didn't get any of the normal little ultrasound pics since I was supposed to get the DVD. There were so many cute shots and we could tell what things were this time. We got to see him kick his little legs. I feel that all the time, but it was fun to actually see it. We also saw the profile and the face, as well as the spine and heartbeat. And it was confirmed that he was a boy. Last time, she pointed out his boy parts, but we couldn't really tell. Now I have seen it with my own eyes. He is a boy! (TMI -sorry)

Tomorrow I'm headed to Rexburg for a day trip with my dad and sister. Whitney is heading back to BYU-I, since I'm tagging along to drop her off.

We Are So Spoiled

This weekend we had some wonderful houseguests who spoiled all three of us!

Gma (aka my grandma), Aunt Shari, and cousins Shelby and Dude stayed with us for a few days.

Here are all the things they spoiled Baby with:

But Baby wasn't the only one to get spoiled. They also spoiled Dallin and I by cooking dinner for us every night, including a delicious Easter dinner. They also did my Spring Cleaning for me, helping me get ready to move. They washed all of my windows, dusted everything, cleaned the light fixtures, packed up boxes, etc., etc...

We are so grateful to all of them for helping us so much!

Traipsing Through Temple Square

We kicked off Spring Break on Saturday by taking some of our visitors to Temple Square to tour and see the beauty all around.

Everything was still looking perfect after General Conference last weekend

No, I don't actually know them.

There were just so many brides wandering around Temple Square

that you couldn't help but get one in your picture.

We kept very busy on our outing to Salt Lake. We checked everything out on Temple Square, watched the Joseph Smith movie, toured the Conference Center, and explored the Church History Museum. Hopefully Gma was able to see everything that she wanted to!

The Decision Has Been Made

And while I loved both of the sets, after much deliberation and help from Gma and Shari, I decided to go with Team Safari.  That decision especially helped since Gma was kind of enough to offer to get the set for us.

King of the Jungle

I've been looking around at different sets to decorate the baby's room and I've decided that I'm going with a jungle theme.  But there are two sets at Babies R Us that I really like.  Here they are, along with the reasons that I like each of them.  Tell me what you think and which you like best.

Team Safari

This set is really bright and colorful, plus I like how it has animals and sports.  

Baby Cocoa

What I like best about this set is that it has so many extra accessories - rug, hamper, mobile, all matching the set.  I think it's super cute.  But it is quite a bit darker and I like color a lot.  

So which set do you like best - the bright, colorful Team Safari or the extras of Baby Cocoa?

Flashback Friday

It's been almost two years since we adopted our first child, little Lolo.  

Now she will be welcoming another brother here in the coming months, one that will really take away the attention from her.  

I hope she isn't too resentful of the baby.
