Go Astros!

We were able to tag along for a boy's trip to Houston and an Astros game.  Pop Pop had box seats through his work and it was awesome.

It was a fun game to watch, even though the Astros didn't manage a win.

We did lots of cheering.

And we ate lots of food.

It was fun seeing our Coffman uncles.

All the Coffman men, enjoying the game.

After the game, they opened the roof and there was an amazing fireworks show.

Go, 'Stros!

Bathing Beauties

We had a new friend join our preschool group - Ellie!  We gathered for another fun field trip at the splash pad to get to know her better.  There was lots of fun in the sun and water and the girls all get along splendidly!  The more the merrier!

Beautiful Bugs

It was our turn to host preschool this week and we had the letter B!

We focused on bugs!  We made lady bug hat with our names

And we decorated butterfly wings as well as learning about the life cycle of a butterfly.  We also did lots of writing and counting practice. It's fun when you have beautiful butterflies to do it with.

Smartest Guy in First Grade

Luke found some glasses to help him with his homework.  They may not help with his eye sight, but they make him look super cool.

Cajun Queen

We had our first preschool field trip today!

We went to the Creole Nature Trail Adventure Point Museum, where we learned about all things Cajun.  Hunting, crabbing, cooking and music.  They girl had fun dressing up and playing.

Then we went to Raising Cane's for some yummy chicken for lunch!  It's always a good time with our Cajun Queen Kate!

Preschool!

Preschool is finally here for our baby!

We are doing a preschool co-op like we've done in the past with the boys.

We'll alternate houses each week.

She's super excited about her unicorn backpack.

This week they started out at Mrs. Angie's house and did a back to school photo shoot before jumping into the letter A.

It's going to be a great year with friends and lots of learning.

Back To School

It's the first day of school!

This year we have a fourth grader.  Jack says this year is going to be just as awesome as third grade (which is saying a lot since he loved third grade and his teacher)

Lucas is in first grade and he got the teacher we were hoping he would get.  He's smart and handsome and ready to conquer the year.

Kate's preschool doesn't start for another week, but she pretended to hold a sign to get in on the action.

After we dropped the boys off, we headed to the traditional Back to School breakfast with ladies from the ward.  Party time!

Back To Reality

It was a long drive home.  Grammy was a trooper and stuck with us for the long trip back.  We stayed the night in Albuquerque and Dallas before making it home.  There was lots of movies watched, snacks eaten, and "are we there yets" uttered.  But we actually made it home!  It was a great trip, but it's nice to be home!

Once we got home, we did lots of laundry and got back to the business of summer before school started.  We went to the Children's Museum one last time.

We also started a new routine where each kid is in charge of dinner.  They plan the menu and help cook.  They love this new chore!
