The Fruits of Our Labors

Our garden has really started producing lately and we're enjoying all sorts of fresh produce.

We have lots of tomatoes, peppers, zuchinni, and squash.

Plus we had two strawberries yesterday.

Sadly our beans and cucumbers didn't turn out too hot.

And we're waiting to see how the butternut squash is.

We're excited to make our second batch of salsa - the first was scrumptious!

Don't be jealous because we have an awesome garden!

Back to School

BYU starts today so we are losing Dallin to the busy grind of school, work, and homework

We sent him off early this morning with his backpack and lunch.

We're excited that this is his last Fall semester and only one more semester after this!

He didn't get to wear stylish new school clothes since he had to go to work too, but we think he looks great!

P.S. Dallin thought I was weird for wanting to take his picture on the first day of school, but I think it's cute.

P.S.S. Does anyone else think it's cool that Jack is exactly 1 year, 1 month, 1 week, and 1 day old. I guess tonight at 10:28, we can add 1 hour to it too!

Splish Splash Part 2

We just barely beat the rain and made it the splash park one last time yesterday afternoon. We had an extra pass so we brought Uncle Andrew with us too.

I can't get enough of this little man in a swimsuit.
Too cute.

He thinks he's big enough to walk down the stairs alone.

He went down the water slide a bunch more times with Daddy and even went down the bigger, scarier slide. He's one big man.

As we were leaving it started to rain and we could see lightning in the distance.
We're lucky we were able to go despite the weather!

Splish Splash

Summer is winding down and we are trying to take advantage of all it has to offer before the weather turns cool, Daddy goes back to school, and the water parks closed. So yesterday we went to the Veteran's Pool in Provo. We had never been there before and are sad that we finally discovered it two days before it closes for the summer.

Jack had lots of fun swimming with Daddy and it was fun for me to finally to get some pictures of him. When the two of us go to Seven Peaks, I'm usually chasing him around and don't have time to get the camera out.

He is such a busy body. He never stops moving and loves to walk in the water, then out of the water, constantly.

I love that cute little body.

Dallin decided to take Jack on the water slide. I was nervous about sending my baby down, especially with how tall it looks.

But he did great. He looked nervous when he came out of the chute...

But afterward had a big grin and wanted to go again. He ended up going 4 times - 3 with Daddy and once with a very nervous Mommy.

We had such a great time. Hopefully it doesn't rain this afternoon - maybe we can go again!

Jack's Television Debut

Here is Jack's television debut.

We watched and watched and watched and they finally showed it during the last 5 minutes of the 1.5 hour telecast.

This is recorded on Dallin's iPhone, so you can hear the beautiful baby himself in the background.

Click the full screen option to see it better.

Voting starts September 6th, so I'll post the link to vote then!

The Famous Jack Coffman

Jack Coffman is going to be famous.

I entered him into the Beautiful Babies Contest on the Fox 13 News.

Today they emailed me asking if they could show his picture on the news to encourage more entries.

So if you are in the Utah area tomorrow (Thursday, August 26) tune into the Fox13 News at 11am to check out the cutest baby in the world.

And when voting starts, I'll post the link so everybody can vote for the cutest baby in the world!

"Park"ing It

Jack loves to visit the park. He just loves being outside.

Here are some pics from one of our many visits to the park...

A Tent of Many Purposes

We gave Jack this tent for his birthday.

It has more parts, but this is the part that stays up all the time.

Jack uses it for many things.

He hides "special" things in there. I have found dish towels, spatulas, clothes, shoes, the dustpan, the remote, etc., etc. If something is missing, that's the first place I look.

Jack often disappears inside to take care of his "business." If I hear grunting come from the tent, I know I'm in trouble.

Jack loves to play the game "I'm gonna get you!" Whenever we say those words to him, he takes off running, laughing hysterically, and dives into his tent. He will peek back out until we say those hilarious words again and then away he goes. It is so much fun!

I'm so glad we got him such a multi-functional gift for his birthday!

Getting Into His Groove

Since Jack has had his uncles staying with him this week, he has discovered ear buds and is fascinated by the fact that sound comes out of them.

This afternoon Dallin got his iPod and let Jack listen.

He had the time of his life dancing to that awesome music only he could hear.

Hiking Baby

We took a little walk in the canyon and came home with a wet baby.

Don't Forget Your Hard Hat!

Today we went on a walk up to campus with Uncle Andrew.
Jack insisted upon walking part of the way and soon discovered a construction zone.

He could not pull himself away.
Uncle Andrew had to leave us there while Jack observed.

He even got to chat with a construction worker!

I think he may want to work with heavy machinery when he grows up!

The Third...

Tuesday was our third anniversary. This year was kind of low key (no trips to Vegas like 2 years ago), since I'm still recovering from my surgery, Dallin had to work, and Jack was being kind of a stinker. But we still had a good time.

We met Dallin for lunch and then that afternoon he came home with these beautiful roses...

and a bottle of Martinelli's Grape (my favorite).

We went to dinner at Olive Garden (delicious!) and got a dessert to go.

At home we watched our wedding video and took our annual family portrait to put on the side of the blog..

After we put Jack to bed, we watched a movie, ate our dessert, and enjoyed our Sparkling Cider.

Happy Anniversary, Dallin!

Out Of Commission

If you are a very faithful reader of this blog, you may have noticed that I haven't been blogging over the last few weeks. I had surgery last week to remove a cyst from my ovary and have been out of commission while I recover.

Dallin was awesome and played Mr. Mom and nurse for the first few days. He took care of Jack, entertained him, changed all diapers, and got up with him in the night, plus made sure that I was comfortable. He is a champ!

My brother Will also helped out once Dallin went back to work. He came over in the mornings before he had to go to work and entertained Jack. They went outside and played, plus they did some laundry together, which Jack loves.

We had dinner brought to us every night for 5 nights straight. Our friends Susie and Carole brought dinner the first night. And then somehow the Relief Society got wind that I was laid up (even though I didn't really tell anybody about it) and arranged meals for the rest of the week. It was awesome to have dinner ready every night, plus it was super tasty!

Jack was able to go play at a friend from our ward's house one day. I was worried because he hasn't ever been left with anyone he wasn't related to, and even then he had some issues. But I hear he was awesome and had a great time. Maybe we might need to arrange some playdates.

I am feeling better, just still a little sore and tired. I'm hoping things heal up soon so I can start wearing real pants again. Right now I'm kind of stuck wearing things with stretchy waists, since my incisions are right on the waist line. Jack and I are also looking forward to hitting the pool again. We haven't been in over two weeks now and we're losing our tans!

And as for Jack...

He noticed things weren't getting done around the house and took it upon himself to do some cleaning...

He's been trying to sweep the floors, as well as unload the laundry from the dryer.

Yet, despite his cleaning ways, why does our living room always seem to look like this?

And yesterday, my keys went missing. We scoured the house for hours looking for them. Dallin even dug through the trash looking. Finally, that night, they were found in a basket in his room where we keep random odds and ends. What a little stinker!

Time Flies...

Can you believe it's already been 3 years?

Happy Anniversary to Us!
