2009 had some great moments for our family, including:

*the announcement we were going to have a baby
*traveling to Houston and California twice
*the return of Elder Strong
*Megan had a great class before going on a teaching hiatus
*visits from lots of family and friends
*moving to the condo
*several wonderful baby showers
*Dallin taking classes that he enjoyed in school

And the biggest highlight of 2009 came on July 22...

the birth of our wonderful, special Jack

Christmas, Take Two

Jack woke up early Christmas morning and was so excited to find that Santa Clause had come.

He got a new mobile and a book, an Elmo DVD, bath toys, socks, and a ball in his stocking.

Then he and Aunt Whitney danced around in their footy pajamas.

Jack really enjoyed playing in the wrapping paper - almost better than the presents!

A fun toy from his great-grandma.

Sitting in his awesome new Bumbo seat.

Then he headed over to his great-grandma's house to hang out on Christmas Day.

He played with his new toys and reveled in the attention.

And then we were treated to a sweet duet from Jack and his momma.

Merry Christmas from California!

Christmas Eve Jitters

Jack was all geared up for the annual Christensen Christmas Eve party.
He decided to go as Santa Claus this year.
He was very excited to see his cousin Wylde...

And even more excited to taste Wylde!

He enjoyed meeting family members and getting snuggled!

Unfortunately the evening didn't end well...
The evening proved to be too much and Jack had an epic breakdown.
He was pretty much inconsolable so we ended up leaving the party during the program and missed opening presents. Luckily his family was nice to Jack and still sent the presents home with him. And the sadness went away in time for Christmas morning!

Christmas, Take One

Before we left for California for Christmas, we had a little pre-Christmas celebration at our house where we opened some of our presents.

Jack was thrilled since he's been trying to get his hands on those presents for weeks.

Here he is attempting to open his big present that has been so fascinating.
What could it be???

"Oh my goodness! It's an Elmo walker! Thank you to all of my Coffman family!"
-Jack (his exact words, of course)

So happy and ready for some action!

Dallin and I also opened some presents and were thrilled with gift cards, hunting equipment, CD's, and baking supplies. Jack also enjoyed some more fun toys and books! Thank you everyone!

5 Months and Counting

This adorable little man hit the 5 month mark on the 22nd.
For his 5 month photo shoot, he hit the beach while visiting his grandparents in California.
Watching the sunset

Super cute, super happy
"Hey guys, don't you wish you were at the beach?"

Jack has changed oodles in the last month.

He now
*rolls from tummy to back, back to tummy, and everywhere he can go
*wants to taste EVERYTHING
*talks in his "loud" voice
*getting close to sitting up - he sits on his own for about 10 seconds now
*grabs on to everything he can get his hands on
*loves going places and being around people
*likes Elmo and Sesame Street
*has the cutest smile
*holds his arms out to be held
*attempting to crawl, but not getting anywhere quite yet
*is a Momma's boy
*is loved very much by his Mommy and Daddy!

Jack has developed his own personality and seems more grown up these days.
My little newborn is long gone!
Now we have a big little man!

It's Christmastime in the City

This week my brother Will went to Rexburg to pick up our sister Whitney from school. They stayed a day with us and Jack had a ball playing with them.
Jack loves hanging with Uncle Will. When Will was in the shower, he kept looking around for him. He could tell that he was missing.
Jack and Aunt Whitney
He had fun playing with Whitney on the floor and was even a good boy for her while Mommy ran some errands.
We took Will and Whitney to Temple Square to see the gorgeous lights.

Jack was all bundled up in his bear suit and blankets. We all wished we had warm bear suits to wear. Can you imagine us, walking around Temple Square, in big bear suits with the feet and all?
Will and Whitney having brother-sister bonding time.

The whole cool gang

And here's something fun. Dallin and I have our "spot" where we get our picture taken.
Here's some fun flashbacks...
2003 (Dallin looks so young. We were just friends back then)

2007
Our first year of marriage
We didn't make it last year due to extreme morning sickness, but here's the unveiling of this year's photo...

Drumroll, please...

2009...
Merry Christmas from the Coffmans!

Busy Baby

Jack is sporting some of his cute Christmas clothes today. We made an attempt at a photo shoot, but gave up pretty quickly since he's way too busy for such trivial things. As you can tell from the pictures, he can't just sit there any more. He's too busy trying to push himself up to the sitting position. Unfortunately once he gets up, then he immediately face plants. Hard life for a busy baby...

See Me In Action!

Excited for Christmas

There was a present under the tree for Jack this morning. He made a beeline for it in typical fashion - rolling.
Moments later, he was back trying to get at the present again...

He can't wait for Christmas!

On The Go

Last week, while at his doctor's appointment, Jack figured out how to roll from his back to his tummy. There's been no looking back since. He is now a rolling fool. I head towards the kitchen and turn around and he's hot in pursuit of me. I've also found him in some interesting places. Time to finish baby proofing!

Attempting to get the Christmas lights, but getting stuck in his bouncy seat.

In the mood for a workout

Jack's No Good Week

This cool dude has had a rough week, hence the lack of blogging on my part.
He caught a little cold while we were in Houston. It seemed to be getting better, but once he got his shots last Tuesday, it got worse. Plus the shots gave him a fever, which fortunately went away the next morning. But the cold hung on through the weekend.
Also, during the weekend, the poor kid's reflux really started acting up. He's had a problem with it for awhile, but it was really bad this weekend. He ate hardly anything and spit up a lot when he did eat. So yesterday we went to the doctor and she gave us a prescription for his reflux, which he started this morning. Hopefully it will help the poor guy not be in so much pain when he eats and spits up.

Luckily he didn't let it get to him too bad.
Here he is lounging in the tub. He now enjoys putting his leg up over the edge of the tub as he kicks back with his buddy Rubbery Ducky.

O Christmas Tree

This year, since we won't be in town on Christmas and we don't have a ton of room, we opted to not get a Christmas tree. Instead we hung lights in the shape of a tree and hung some ornaments on the lights. While it's not quite the same, it at least gives the illusion of Christmas.

Dallin hanging the lights

Jack enjoys watching the lights and chewing on his feet.
Can life get any better?

Santa Baby

A couple of weeks ago my favorite model Santa-suited up for his 4 month/Christmas card photo shoot.

Can Santa get any cuter?
