The Queen of Style
Kate has her own unique style and knows what she wants to wear. The proof is in the pictures...

100 Days Awesomer
Today is the 100th day of school! The boys got to wear 100 days shirts and do 100 day activities. Jack had this awesome "I roared my way through 100 days," very fitting with how much yelling and roaring he's done lately. Since Luke just started basketball, he had this "100 Days of Slam Dunks" shirt. They have rocked the last 100 days!

To Regionals!
We spent the day at the Burton Coliseum for the Regional Social Studies Fair.

Jack was super excited and nervous. During this competition, they have to sit with their projects and are questioned by the judges. He dressed as a park ranger.

There were over two hundred projects.

He was so excited when he found this winner paper on his project. We stayed for the award's ceremony and discovered that he came in FIRST PLACE in the Elementary Geography Division. He was ecstatic. Now he's headed to the State Fair in March!

The Giant Rooster
A friend contacted us this week and said she had a rooster that she wanted to get rid of. When we got there, we were amazed at how huge he was!
We brought him home and butchered him.
He was so huge it was like cooking a Thanksgiving turkey! And he was pretty tasty!

Farewell Mr Don
Our dear friend, Don Duplantis, passed away suddenly this week. Our family loved Mr Don so much! Whether he was at church helping wrangle our kids or talking hunting at the lease with Dallin, he always had a smile on his face. He and Susan are a true example of love, devotion, and partnership. They were a team! The world just won’t be the same without our dear friend. All of our family is heartbroken over losing a good friend. We love you, Mr Don!

Future Firemen
Our friend Bob is a firefighter in Ojai and invited for a visit to the station.
It was one of the most thorough fire station visits I've ever had! We got to tour the station, go for a ride in the fire truck, and even wear their gear!
Bob even let us spray the fire hose!
I think everyone (including Dallin) want to be firefighters someday!
Ojai Day
On our last day in Ojai, we got out and did lots of Ojai stuff.
We spent time at Libbey Park with Carter and Millie.
They've made lots of improvements to the park since I was a kid, so it was extra fun.
Then we went to Ojai Ice Cream for the best ice cream - Ojai Orange!
We also had some fun in Aunt Shari's hot tub in the rain!
We love Ojai!

Dancing the Night Away
After the sealing and a lunch stop at In N Out, we made it back up to Ojai for an awesome backyard reception.

There was lots of dancing.

The Taco Man came and served up DELICIOUS tacos.

There was a fire pit where the kids could roast smores.

It was a beautiful evening and we even got to see the Pink Moment on the Topa Topa Mountains.

It was a perfect way to celebrate the cutest couple!

Here Comes the Bride
Cassidy and Austin are married!

We enjoyed being in the Los Angeles Temple to witness their sealing for time and eternity.

The kids hung out at the visitor's center with Austin's brother and sister.

Kate was obsessed with the wedding pictures. She stayed after all the family shots were done to watch the bridal pictures being taken around the temple. Maybe she'll be a wedding planner one day.

I was lucky to be a bridesmaid and celebrate Sass on her special day.

I can't believe it's been 11 years since we were married in this same temple!

Congrats to the newlyweds!

In the Air Again
We had a great time in Colorado, but now we are headed off on the next leg of our journey - Cassidy and Austin's wedding in California. We made it through the super long security lines in Denver.
All the travel wore the Troublemint Twins out and they slept most of the drive from LAX to Ojai. Gotta rest up for the fun ahead!

We Want Snow
The cold front came through(with temps in the single digits!), but unfortunately only brought a light dusting of snow. Our Louisiana kids were happy with anything they could get their hands on.
They were some of the only kids to venture outside and check out the snow in the super cold air.
It was a beautiful day!
