Deck The Halls

We were so excited to decorate for Christmas. Anticipation built all day until Daddy got home from work and we set to work immediately. Everything was on the tree, nativities set up, and lights on the house within two hours. We waste no time around here. It was very difficult to get a good pic of the kids. Here’s some outtakes

Can you guess who was being difficult?

Broken

It was a traumatic day for Kate.

Within five minutes of getting to the park, she fell off one of the climbing toys and fractured her arm.

We spent an hour at urgent care getting it wrapped where they then sent us to the ER.

It took another five hours to get the bone reset and rewrapped.

The next day she went in and got a pretty pink cast! She’s one tough little lady!

More Fishing Fun

Jack loves to fish now, so we checked out Holbrook Park on a Saturday morning.

It was a gorgeous morning, even though we didn’t catch anything.

It was fun spending time as a family!

Veteran’s Day Adventures

The kids and I decided to do some exploring on Veteran’s Day, so what better than going to the Veterans Memorial in Lake Charles. We had some friends join us.

They enjoyed seeing the tanks and helicopter along with the memorials.

It was such a beautiful day that we took a walk along the boardwalk and fed the ducks.

We are grateful for the freedom to enjoy such a beautiful day!

Do My Best

Jack had his first Pack Meeting as a Cub Scout.

He got to bring in the flag.

He earned lots of awards, including his Bobcat and the very rare Eclipse badge.

We are grateful for a great Scout leader and fun boys in the Wolf Pack.

We ❤️ Veterans

Happy Veteran’s Day to all the veterans! Kate and I attended (two) touching programs at the school saluting our veterans. First we went to one with Lucas’ class.

Then Jack spoke in his assembly. He explained what a veteran is.

There was a slideshow of all the veterans who have family attending the school and a veteran of Afghanistan spoke about his experience.

We are so grateful for the sacrifices our veterans have made for our freedoms. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

There’s A New Park in Town

Moss Bluff FINALLY got a park. We are so excited we don’t have to drive for some fun. We went the day after it opened and had a blast

That loved the toys, including the swings

It was even warm enough in November for the kids to play in the splash pad

This is the first of many park trips in our future!
