Party Time

Kate and I were busy hitting parties at the boys school. 

First we went to second grade...

They made reindeer food, ornaments, played games, and decorated cookies. 

Then we ran over to PreK to see a cute boy in his reindeer shirt 

There was a gift exchange, then everyone enjoyed pizza and cookies!

It was a super fun afternoon!

Art Show

Jack has continued with his art class and has his Christmas art show. They had their art on display at the library. 

Art is one of his favorite activities and he looks forward to class each week. 

Kate was given these cool new shoes and was excited to wear them to the show

After the show, we went to see Cruze's dancing Christmas lights. The kids were mesmerized. 

It was a fun Christmas evening!

Christmas Parade

This year the PTO had a float in the Moss Bluff Christmas Parade. Since Kate and I are very active with PTO, we all participated 

We spent the morning decorating and the were super excited to hit the road. The kids loved throwing out the candy and waving to people they knew. 

It was a fun way to spread Christmas cheer!

Santa

We had a fun ward Christmas party. A delicious Christmas dinner, fun company, and a lovely program of the primary singing and the youth acting out the Nativity. 

And then we got to visit with Santa 

Child #1 was frightened and barely spoke. 

Child #2 wouldn't even look at Santa

The child who ran out screaming in terror last year was the only one who managed to look Santa in the eye 

But we know he got the point. We are hoping we are on the nice list!

Misery

We had two very long weeks here battling strep. 

Jack was the first to go. It took two doctor visits, a shot, an oral antibiotic and four missed days of school to recover. 

Kate was the next to go. She threw up...a lot...and her fever would spike up to 103. Poor baby was miserable. She had a shot, an oral antibiotic and it still took 5 days to recover. 

I was next. I did a virtual visit since Dallin was gone and kate was so sick. A friend picked up my prescription and another friend brought us dinner. 

Luke was the final victim. We tried to get him in early and prevent it from getting bad but the doctor wouldn't give him the shot. The next day, when the fever was still there and he had started throwing up, the doctor relented. Luke missed three days of school. 

And somehow Dallin avoided the whole thing! We are so glad everybody is feeling better!miserably. 

Deck TheHalls

The day after Thanksgiving we got ready for Christmas 

Everybody was super excited to decorate the tree while we listened to Christmas music and ate donuts and drank sparkling cider 

They loved reminiscing about where the decorations came from. 

We have a fancy nice nativity that is beautiful and two kids nativities to play with. They are very popular 

We are excited for this Christmas season 

Giving Thanks

We had a quiet Thanksgiving at home this year. 

We watched the parade on TV, rode four wheelers, fried a turkey and had all the trimmings, and finished our thankful tree.

We are grateful for our family, healthy and home! 

Trolls

During our Thanksgiving break, we had a very wet and rainy day. So we went to the movies to see Trolls. 

We enjoyed the movie along with our reclining seats and popcorn. 

Even Kate did well and still talks about when we saw Poppy!

Holiday Hiking

We kicked off Thanksgiving Break with a fun hike with friends at our normal hiking spot. 

They collected little sticks

And very big sticks. 

And were full of fun smiles as we hiked along 

We finished off with a picnic before heading home for a rest. A great start to our break!

Chief Lucas

Luke's PreK class had a Thanksgiving feast. They were able to choose their names. Meet Chief Lucas 

The teachers cooked up a feast. The Chief liked the corn the best. 

We are thankful for a fun PreK class!

Field Trip

I was able to tag along on the second grade field trip to the Super Scientific Circus 

It was a fun show that incorporated scientific principles 

After the show, they went for a crazy, chaotic lunch at Chuckie Cheese. There were kids running around everywhere. But it was fun spending time with my favorite second grader 

Hatched

Our farm continues to expand. We incubated some eggs and now have 8 chicks to show for it!

We were hoping for more, so we now have another 25 eggs in the incubator 

In an effort to keep with the growth, Dallin expanded the coop. Jack calls this The Chicken Palace

Cajun Grammy

We took Grammy to Adventure Point to teach her how to be Cajun 

We taught her about Cajun and Zydeco music 

Showed her how to crab

Made some boudin

And showed her how to hunt 

She's totally Cajun now

The tooth fairy has been visiting our house frequently 

It takes a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. But look at that smile!
