There was a mother daughter paint night at the church. Kate and I had such a good time learning to paint dragonflies together. I'm so impressed with how well she did. I love my little bestie!

Grand Prize Winner
Big day at the Regional Social Studies Fair!
Not only did Jack place first in the Division 1 Anthropology division....
He also won the GRAND PRIZE for all of the elementary age projects!
He was so so shocked and excited to make it this far!
You couldn't wipe the smile off that face!

Throw Me Some, Mister
Laissez les bon temps roulez!
We partied hard at the Krewe of Krewes parade downtown.
We got all kinds of treasures and partied hard to all the music.
We left with more beads than we can count and big smiles on our faces.
While everyone else in the country goes to work, we party in Louisiana!
It was fun to meet up with friends for a fun evening!

Krewe de MBE
Louisiana Day 2020! We kicked off Mardi Gras break with the most fun day of the year.
Kate held the sign in the school parade for the Krewe de Kindergarten.
Lucas was the king of his class and got to throw beads to all his fans.
There were cool stations where they learned Cajun dancing, about the Coast Guard, and woodworking and duck calling.
They also got to sample lots of tasty food, like jambalaya, boudin, and king cake. And I learned that substitute teaching on Louisiana Day is not for the weak - it was exhausting!
So we are enjoying crawfish and reading for relaxation over the Mardi Gras break!

Change the World
Teachers change the world, one child at a time. We are so grateful to our teachers for making it out to our church's annual Teacher Appreciation Night. Kate loved having Mrs. Hunter there.
Jack was supported by his math teacher, Mrs. Norris, and his Science/Social Studies teacher, Mrs. Felice.
Luke's teacher was miserably sick, but he was adopted by other teachers.
Including his beloved kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Dillon.
Our teachers are awesome!

Globetrotting
Dallin surprised the boys with tickets to see the Harlem Globetrotters for Valentine's Day.
They even got a pregame pass where they got to go down on the court and meet the players.
Luke had a basketball game he didn't want to miss, but Jack made sure to get some autographs for him.
There were lots of cool tricks and moves.
Our ballers had a fun night!

Scouting Finale
Jack finished up his Cub Scout career with a fun awards ceremony and party at the Morris' house.
The boys completed the flag ceremony and received their awards, along with a cool pocket knife.
Then they roasted hot dogs and played football in the mud.
Can a day get any better???
Balling!
Basketball season has officially opened! I missed both games due to poor sick Kate and this was the only picture from the day.
Jack brought his defensive game and the other team couldn't score when he was in. Sadly they weren't able to pull of the win though.
Luke brought his offensive game and scored 18 points in their 24-8 victory. He was on fire!
It's going to be a fun season!

Feeling the Love
Happy Valentine's Day! Lucas got to decorate a cool box for his valentines to be delivered and the kids had a blast at their class parties.
Mommy and Daddy got to have a day date where they went shopping at Tractor Supply for gardening supplies, then had a yummy lunch.
Sadly, Kate came home from school super duper sick. Poor baby was knocked out for several days with flu like symptoms. That was not so much feeling the love.

Kindergarten Khaos
Another kindergarten field trip! This one was pure chaos as the kindergarten descended on the bowling alley to practice subtraction by knocking down the bowling pins.
Then they headed over to Chuck E Cheese for pizza and games. You think the bowling alley was crazy, Chuck E Cheese was even crazier! But Kate had a blast and her daddy got back just in time to go with us! Kindergarten Kraziness!

100 Days Older
Today was the 100th day of school, so Kate dressed up like a 100 year old lady.
She was so proud of her glasses and robe
And she was obsessed with her curlers.
I got to visit each of the kid's classes for fun 100 day activities.
Luke sported his 100th day shirt.
Jack declined to dress up and is getting too cool for activities, but it was still fun to see him, even if he wouldn't take a picture.
Can't believe we are over halfway through the school year!
