My Excuses

Many of you have noticed that my blogging has left something to be desired lately. My posts aren't frequent and not really all that exciting, sometimes whiny. Well, I express my apologies and would like to offer an excuse:

We're going to have a baby!
It's been hard to blog when I have such big news that I'm trying to keep quiet
and feel so cruddy all the time. But things should be a-changin' now. I resolve to a better blogger now that you know the truth.
I'm 12 weeks along and due on July 27th, my beloved sister Whitney's birthday.
Morning sickness has been a beast, so let's pray we're almost out of that phase.
We are so excited!

What A Week!

This week has been one of those weeks that you wish would just end already.

It all began as soon as our plane landed last Friday.

Dallin's jeep wouldn't start (the reason we took his jeep to the airport was that my car would not start when we were leaving).

We got towed.  Donny and Andrea saved us.  Luckily we got my car up and running again.

We started teaching Primary - we have 13 eight-year-olds - 13 well behaved seven-year-olds as opposed to our former class of 6 unruly nine-year-olds.

Dallin had to drive me to work two days in a row.  Trying to pick me up on Monday, it took him an hour and a half to get from Provo to Lehi due to the stupid snow.  I sat in a Wendy's during that time.  I felt cool.

It continued to snow on Tuesday.  Julie, my good friend that teaches across the hall, was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery.  Very scary.  So glad she's doing better now.

We made it to Salt Lake in the snow to the repair shop at 5:59, to pick up the jeep by the 6 o'clock closing time.  It cost a bundle.

I drove home from SLC by myself while it snowed.  A stupid mini-van tailgated me half the way.  It's snowing - get off my butt!  Upon arriving home, the headache that had been bothering me all day turned into a migraine.  Super sick.  Meanwhile, Dallin is stuck in class in Salt Lake.  Poor boy!

Our driveway suffered the effects of the snow.  Wednesday morning my car got stuck.  Dallin had to push me out.  Did I mention I hate snow?

On top of all this, I've had recess duty before school.  It's cold, VERY cold!  I think I may freeze to death tomorrow.  Wish me luck.

I have vented.  Thank you for your patience.  That is all.

New Year's Eve

Happy New Year!
We celebrated New Year's Eve with fireworks, despite the freezing cold.
Here are the girls trying to stay warm!

Gingerbread Houses

We had a boys vs. girls gingerbread house making contest.

Here are the girls with their "most colorful" house.
Here are the boys with their "neatest and tidiest" house, perfect for an old retired couple.

Out and About in PA

While in Pennsylvania, we did a lot of fun things and visited some cool places.

Hagley House, home of the duPonts and the former duPont gunpowder factory

Longwood Gardens

Feeding (or rather being swarmed by) the ducks

Merry Christmas

We spent Christmas in Pennsylvania with Dallin's family.  One of the highlights was enjoying Eli's first Christmas.  Here he is on his sweet rocking horse:
We also got new aprons from Aunt Patty - it looks like Liz and I will have to fight for them.  The boys really seem to enjoy them!
Merry Christmas from the Coffmans!

Pre Christmas Celebration

Since we spent Christmas in Pennsylvania, we couldn't take a lot of our gifts with us.  So we celebrated a little early and opened gifts the Saturday before Christmas.  Among the highlights, Dallin got a new drill and a new gun and I got a great new camera to replace the camera that bit the dust last summer.
Here is an artistic shot with the new camera:

Merry Christmas!
