The Great Outdoors
On Friday night, Dallin and Jack went camping with some friends. Jack had a great time playing with his friend John. They had pancakes, slept in a tent, and shot guns. It was a very manly trip!

Not Just a Baby
Luke is growing up.
He's just a few weeks away from his first birthday.
He loves practicing walking by pushing his toy up and down the driveway...
He recently had his first turn on the slide and he loved it!!
He'll take steps on his own from time to time.
He always looks so proud of himself as he totters around like Frankenstein.
And it is so cute to watch the boys go up and down the driveway together.
Jack slowly rides his bike next to Luke as he walks.
Yesterday they did this for 45 minutes.
And they were both so patient with each other!

Girl's (And Kid's) Night Out
While the men were at Priesthood Session, a group of us met up with the kids at Chick-Fil-A for dinner. The kids played on the toys and the moms chatted. Then we headed over to Orange Leaf for frozen yogurt. Yum, yum!
Jack was so happy that his friend Austin was there and he had a great time playing with his sister too. They were even dancing around Orange Leaf.
We tried to get a picture of all the kids, but some had already left and the babies are impossible to keep in pictures. But it was a cute bunch of kids and a happy group of moms.

Nature Hiking
Between sessions of Saturday General Conference, we headed over to Sam Houston State Park for a little walk. We brought Charlie, who got tons of compliments on how awesome he looked.
We walked through the swamp, then over by the river. We played on the toys and Luke had his first slide experience. He LOVED it! There were squeals of laughter and he cried when it was time to stop.
Jack insisted that we have a picnic. All I had was fruit snacks, but he was fine sharing those with all of us.
We had a great adventure and will be back again soon since it's so nice there this time of year.

Playing Halloween
All morning Jack has been "playing Halloween." He dresses up as a cowboy, rides his horse (the treadmill), lassos everything, fights off candy corn and handles 'mergencies. Then he takes off his cowboy hat and announces that it's "regular Jack!"
He was so exhausted by the end of the fun.
We have also been making Halloween crafts to hang on our wall. So far - jack-o-lanterns, witches, and ghosts (or ghosteses, as Jack says).

Cute Moments
Two cute moments from today:
We went to the park with some friends, including Jack's friend Austin. The cutest thing: the two boys waving to each other from the back seats of their cars as we were leaving. Such cute little friends! I wish I had a picture!
This afternoon my boys got out their wooden cars and followed each other around the house, pushing them. They didn't say anything, just pushed the cars together with smiles on their faces. It warmed my mommy heart!

Happy October!
This time of year is so much fun with a fun guy like Jack. And we are so excited it's October.
We pulled out our Halloween books. And we have a lot!
We made Halloween cupcakes. Jack was in charge of the treat for FHE. We baked Halloween funfetti cupcakes with orange frosting. Then Jack busily decorated with sprinkles and candy corn. They were awesome. He even pushed some candy corn deep inside for a fun surprise.
For our FHE activity we painted faces on little pumpkins. Jack once again continued to be awesome.
Let the October fun begin!
