After being stuck indoors most of the week, the boys begged to go to the park. I'm not a huge fan of going to the park when it's so hot and humid. But we went first thing so it wasn't completely unbearable. And they boys had a lot of fun, as you can tell from their faces. That makes it worth the sweat.

Fort Coffman
The boys have had colds this week, so we've been stuck inside.
So we built a fort
And played with toys and looked out the window
And of course we've been teasing each other a lot!

The Louisiana Experience
We wanted to give Will and Bethany the Louisiana experience and packed it all in one day. We started with kolaches for breakfast.
Then we headed to Pintail Wildife Preserve to see some gators. We managed to see about 4!
Will teased this guy by throwing rocks into the water around him.
We took a walk on the boardwalk. These two look so cute walking together. I have to take advantage of when they are getting along.
We looked for wildlife.
And tried to get a decent pic with Will and Beth!
Then we headed to Holly Beach to see the Gulf.
Planning their sandcastle.
The builders with their masterpiece.
Luke was happy to be there. He was not so happy on our drive.
After a lunch of Raising Canes we all took much needed naps. The 4th had wiped us out. Then we had a Cajun dinner.
I made gumbo and picked up some boudin. Will had three helping of the gumbo, so my first attempt must have been good!
For dessert we had Bluebell Ice Cream and even sampled Creole Cream Cheese
It was a successful Louisiana kind of day!

Land of the Free
We were so excited to have Uncle Will and Aunt Bethany visit us for the weekend, especially with Dallin gone. The boys loved playing with them.
Jack would run so fast when he helped. They put on a great show.
We went shopping for fireworks.
We played in the pool.
They gave the boys a slip n slide.
Then they created a timed obstacle course.
We also decorated these yummy chocolate chip cookies to be patriotic
And met up with friends to swim and grill. Jack jumped off the diving board a lot.
Luke spent time playing by the side of the pool.
We ate delicious food. Burgers, guacamole salsa, chips, watermelon, cookies.
Then we headed home to shoot off our fireworks.
Luke loved the snappers.
It was a great day to share with family and friends. We just wish Dallin had been there to celebrate with us!

On the First Day of July
The weather suddenly became bearable. Like I didn't feel like I was being smothered by the heat and humidity when I walked outside. So we worked on our summer bucket list.
We went for our afternoon swim and the boys were looking cool in their goggles.
We drew pictures with sidewalk chalk.
We smelled the beautiful flowers.
We made homemade Popsicles for our FHE treat. And then ate them on the grass in our underwear. Well, just the boys were in their underwear. Luke was not loving his diaper tonight and so he borrowed a pair of Jack's undies. He looked like a big boy.
We are excited for the best month of the year to kick off!
