iRobot

R is for Robot!

This week at preschool we read Boy + Bot and even did our first book report.

We worked in a robot packet that had lots of fun activities.

Matching shapes to the shape word

We built our own robots out of various shapes. Each was unique.

We had Bot, the Incredible Disappearing Robot, and Speedy Austin.

During recess they pretended to be robots building a pirate ship.

They put together a robot puzzle.

And finished up playing with our very own robot, Cogsley!

Work Hard, Play Hard

When Nana was here, she got the boys rakes to help. They have been working hard everyday.

Once they finish their work, they get their strength back with a picnic in their shades.

And rides on the four wheelers

Not Just Boats and RV's

This weekend was the Lake Charles Boat and RV Show. Nana was visiting us and we met up with the Caples for some fun.

First up was fishing!

Jack was a little nervous about his fish.

All of our little guys LOVED exploring the various RV's

They also loved pretending to drive the boats.

Then Nana took Jack on the adventure of a lifetime. She took him on the awesome helicopter ride!

He was a little nervous, but hasn't stopped talking about how awesome it was!

It was the time of his life! We had a great day!

Q-Time

At preschool this week we celebrated all things Q!

We read My Q Box and worked on Q in our workbooks before using q-tips to practice writing on ziplocs with paint. The big boys don't seem to like to get messy, so this works best.

We also made Q out of fabric squares to make it look like a quilt.

They sorted the squares by color,

Made patterns to create quilts and counted the squares.

We read Giggle, Giggle, Quack and we learned the new words we and for and even practiced reading them in books! It was Quite fun!

Ahoy, Maties

We haven't done preschool in a good long while and were excited to be back today after the holidays and sickness. So without further ado,

P is for PIRATES!!!

We read My P Sound Box, did some work in our workbooks, then read Bubble Pirates. Then we donned our pirate hats and eye patches and went on a treasure hunt. We found a treasure chest with chocolate coins, popcorn, and planes.

Enjoying the treasure!

I found a pirate packet at overthebigmoon.com that had fun pirate activities , including sorting, patterns, beginning letter sounds, and counting.

We also read Papa is a Pirate and If You Give A Pig A Party and began introducing the sight words the and in. We are getting so smart!

The rest of the day, Jack and Luke have been busy playing pirates!

A Little Bit of That

I may be in my January funk and not much has been happening round here. So here's some pics of the random happenings around here:

The boys are cute.

Luke got new shoes that he's very proud of and make him run really fast.

We went to the park before the cold weather set in.

The boys like doing "homework"

I have a baby bump. 15 weeks!

Jack finished the Book of Mormon!

Ringing in 2014

For New Year's Eve, we went to the Caple's to party the night away. We had yummy burgers, fries, pizza and root beer floats.

We brought our four wheelers and they had got one for Christmas, so the kids rode around the house.

Dallin was our firework man and put on quite the show. The kids loved it and loved the sparklers too.

We had fun spending time with our friends.

The kids were ready for bed by 8, so we headed home and were in bed long before midnight. We wouldn't have it any other way.
