Santa Clause is Coming To Town

On top of a day of snow, we also had our ward Christmas party. Kate was dressed to impress

And her brothers were looking good too

After a yummy dinner and nice program, there was a visitor. All of the kids were very nervous about him

Some shared what they wanted

Others did not

Either way I think he got the point

Snow Day

Jack woke me up for a drink of water at 3:30am and we discovered our yard looked like this

Since this is once in a lifetime in Louisiana (they are saying they haven’t had this much snow since the 70s), the boys were out playing in it at 4:30am

Kate finally woke up at 6:30 and had her first ever experience with snow. She loved it

The snow continue to come down and it was magical

The kids spent the morning playing in it

We even made snow ice cream

Luke was scared to death that he had frostbite. When he came in from playing, his feet were tingly as they started to warm up. He was hysterical because he thought we were going to have to cut his feet off. Fortunately we made it with all limbs in tact.

It was the best day ever!

Day At The Museum

Kate and I tagged along with Jack’s gifted class to the Art Museum of Southeast Texas in Beaumont.

There weren’t art exhibits up, but instead they learned how to screen print

He came home with a cool tote bag and an original screen print

We also got to eat lunch with him before the rain hit and we hurried out

We took refuge in Target during the crazy rain that brought in a cold front

Love Thy Neighbor

Jesus taught:“Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”--Matthew 22:39

We have felt bad that we’ve had new neighbors across the street for awhile and we’ve never met them. So we baked cookies for them and introduced ourselves.

Sunday Best

Matthew 12:12 “Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the Sabbath.”

We are so grateful to go to church each Sunday to renew our covenants with a loving Heavenly Father, learn more of His Son, and to serve those around us. And we look so good doing it.

Side note: it’s hard to find a dress in December to fit over a big cast

Living Water

Matthew 25:35 “I was thirsty and ye gave me drink”
Last night we watched the video for Day 2 of Light The World about providing clean water for those in need and decided on a family level, we would help each other get drinks today. First thing this morning, Jack provided me with my full travel mug of ice water. I love how ready he is to serve.

On another level, there are people thirsting for the “Living Water.”  There is so much unhappiness in the world. I am so grateful for the peace that Jesus Christ brings as I follow Him. The knowledge that He knows me and loves me brings me the most peace. I hope each of us can drink of that Living Water this holiday season.
