Hoarders

While Dallin and I were eating lunch, we watched Jack go back and forth between the family room and his bedroom, carrying toys and other random objects.
He was very busy and intent on what he was doing.
When asked what he was doing, he told he was building a house.

This is what we found:

Looks more like a hoarder's house to me!

LOVE Day

We had a lover-ly Valentine's Day!

There were lots of kisses...

and squealing because we love kisses.

Everyone was shown love, including Elmo.

We decorated some Valentine hearts...

with our biggest grins.

We received awesome Valentines in the mail...

and even a little moolah!

We went shopping at Target to use our gift card from Grammy and Gramp.

Some people got a Buzz Lightyear Cosmic Blaster, while others got a car mirror to enjoy their good looks.

Our daddy made a romantic dinner of Chicken Cordon Bleu, Green Bean Bundles, Carrots Julienne, and Texas Toast with a little bubbly to drink.

With the always delicious Better Than Sex Cake...mmmmmm!

Our day was filled with love for each other - hope you felt the love too!

From The Mouth of Babes

Jack has been saying a lot lately and cracking me up with all of his phrases and observations.

About 50 times a day, he tells me, "Me growing weally, weally big."
And sometimes he lets me know that "Ukey is growing weally, weally big."
Not just big - really, really big.
He usually tells me this as he's eating, when he gets dressed, when he's getting ready for a nap, getting ready for bed, etc.

While eating a box of raisins, Jack said, "Mommy's picture on the box."
Me: "How did I get on the box?"
Jack: "Daddy put you there."

When he's surprised, he says, "Oh, WOW!"

Sometimes he likes to pretend that he is Curious George and I am the man with the yellow hat.
He will come running into my room when he wakes up yelling, "Man with ellow hat. The sun is UP!"

Luke's pacifier = "Ukey popsicle"
Hey, he sucks on it like a popsicle!

Jack was watching Monsters, Inc. and Luke was fussing.
"Ukey crying. Ukey scared of monsters."

When I give him his vitamins in the morning, he always tells me, "These make me feel better!"

The Builder

Jack went to a Bob the Builder birthday party on Saturday.
He had the time of his life.
He especially loved that they each got a hard hat, a tool belt, a measuring tape, and a flashlight.
He's been fixing things around our house constantly.
He sleeps with his hard hat beside his bed and comes running into my room first thing wearing it, demanding I put on his tool belt for him.
We love our little construction worker!

Artsy and Craftsy

So I have two confessions to make:

1. My first two months having two kids were rough - really rough - and I had a hard time adjusting and splitting my attention between the two. And I'll admit, Jack ended up watching way too much TV. I felt really bad at the time, but it was the only way I could get by at the time. I've attempted to mend my ways. Yes, he still watches TV, but not as much, and we try to do fun things together each day.

2. I am not artsy/craftsy. Funny since you think most teachers are both. Never have been, probably never really will. But I'm trying to do more things like that since I know Jack loves it.

So here are some of my attempts to mend my ways lately:

Valentines

Jack set up his office, Cars chair and all, and jumped to work.
I wrote the names and he colored and told me all about the person who he was making it for.
Then I addressed the envelopes and he picked out the sticker to put on the back.
And he loved putting them in the mailbox.

Finger Painting!
I was a little hesitant at first since I knew it would be messy.
But we put out some cardboard and got great washable paints.

At first all he wanted to do was make handprints.

And he thought the mess on his hands was so cool!

Luke watched from the sidelines
(You can't have a post without a cute baby Luke picture)

He then got really into it
Smearing every where - oh the joy of finger paints!

Several people had pictures painted for them.
Pop Pop, this one is for you!

On white paper - for Mommy.
On red paper - for Daddy
On purple paper - for Luke
On orange paper - for Grammy
On blue paper - for Pop Pop

Don't be jealous if you didn't get one - we have more paint

The paint monster with paint on his hands, legs, feet, neck, and even in his ears!

So what do you do?
Jump in a bubble bath!
Does life get any better?

Hopefully we can keep up the fun - I know Jack is happier when we do these kinds of things and I feel like a better mom as we make fun memories together!

Blue Jean Babies

Both my boys were wearing jeans today.
I think little kids in jeans are absolutely adorable.

Cute little bums!

We also tried a little photo shoot.

Getting to be such a big boy!

And such a handsome big brother!

Two irresistable little guys!
