The Invitation

Jack wanted some mail, so I gave him some junk mail that came.

He insisted it was an invitation and kept reading it to me.

"Dear Jack Jack, Today you are going to the airport.  Mommy's taking you.  Have fun at the airport!"

Candy Corn Maze

On Saturday we went to the corn maze with our friends the Caples.

Jack called it the Candy Corn Maze.

They had tons of fun activities.

We raced to the top of the tire mountain.

And watched amazed while the big boys climbed.

We climbed to the top of the dirt mountain and slid down the tube slide.

Some tetherball was played.

There was an awesome gigantic pillow that was great for jumping.

They had fire trucks and army trucks.

Two cute little friends.

We went on a hay ride and saw longhorns and donkeys.

The kids rode the animal train.

A group of cute kids

Then we went through the corn maze.

The kids helped lead the way.

Dallin was our pack horse and carried both boys at some point throughout the trek.

I brought up the rear with the stroller.

And after a few dead ends, we were amazingly awesome and found our way out!

Then on our way out we found the pails of corn to play in.

And Jack and Ryanne even got buried in corn.

Cute faces!

We had such a great time and we were so glad to go with such fun friends.

Our trip home proved eventful:
The GPS failed us.
We waited 25 minutes for an incomplete fast food order.
Jack had an epic meltdown because he wanted popcorn instead of his chicken nuggets.
We got pulled over and got a ticket from a cop that reeked of alcohol.
And Jack had to poop by the side of the road while we were on the wrong side of town.

But all in all, in was a great day!

Little Builders

On Saturday morning, Dallin got out his tools to build something. Soon Jack joined him with his tools. And then Luke joined them too.

Once Dallin was finished, the boys kept working hard. They claimed they were building a dog house for Charlie as they hammered, measured, and played away.

What in the World?

On Thursday, I asked Jack if he wanted to make Halloween cookies.

His response - What in the WORLD are Halloween cookies?

Once I explained what they were, he was all for it and helped cut out pumpkins, ghosts, and black cats.

And then has been asking to make more cookies ever since!

What in the world would we do with so many cookies?

Tough Pillows

Jack keeps coming in our room at night and wants to sleep in our bed. When I asked why, he told me, "My pillow is tough. Mommy and Daddy's pillows are soft!" Guess who got a new pillow today?

The Boys of Louisiana

Jack knows he lives in Louisiana and uses it in his daily conversation.

Some of my favorite lines:

My voice echoes and comes back to me in Louisiana.

The leaves are turning orange in Louisiana.

I'm just watching the cars drive by in Louisiana.

He's got some Louisiana pride going on.
