It was a painful few days but luckily she survived.

A Pain in the Mouth
Last week was ROUGH!! Kate started feeling sick and cried most of the night. I thought it might be her ears so I took her to the doctor. She had hand foot and mouth disease.
And it was an extreme case. She was covered in blisters. They were all over her face!
She would just roll around screaming in pain
Her legs and feet were covered in the dark red blisters. They were even between her toes and under her toenails.
Meanwhile we discovered Luke had ringworm on his head and then he came down with hand foot and mouth too. Fortunately his case wasn't as painful as Kate's, but we still had to postpone the first week of preschool.
They are both healing up now and looking much better.
We are ready to be healthy and get out and have some fun!

The Gulfarium
Our final day in Destin was spent at the Gulfarium. It's like a small outdoor aquarium. We saw a dolphin show and a sea lion show.
The stingrays were pretty exciting.
And the boys fed some turtles.
There was an area where you could touch sea stars, crabs and other creatures.
Despite the heat, it was cool seeing so much life that lives right there in the Gulf.
We saw sharks and other deep sea fish.

The Fish Bowl
We went to a really fun bowling alley called Uncle Buck's Fish Bowl.
It made you feel like you were under the sea with the lighting and fish everywhere.
The balls even had fish on them and came out of a shark mouth.
Once we got in a rhythm everyone had fun bowling.
It was quite the undersea adventure c
After dinner we came out to a beautiful summer evening!

The Tooth Fairy Comes to Florida
Jack has had a loose tooth for awhile with the big tooth coming in behind it. One afternoon we were relaxing at the hotel and Dalljn kept trying to get it out. He wiggled and jiggled and worked so hard. He asked me to come take a look. I thought he wanted me to push on it, do I did. Well out it came! I kind of stole his thunder. But everyone was still happy and the tooth fairy even found us in Florida and left a dollar!

Crystal Beach
Our final beach day was spent at Crystal Beach.
It was the prettiest beach to me, but also the most crowded, maybe because we were there on a Saturday.
The kids had fun building and digging and swimming.
We had some lunch
And managed to make it back to the hotel before it started storming.
Jack has a love-hate relationship with the beach. He hates the aftermath of the sand and gets mad about the prospect of going because of being sandy at the end. Yet while he's there, he is in heaven!

Goofy Golf
We actually went to Goofy Golf twice because it was such a hit. It a mini-golf course with lots of crazy holes and funny statues like this dinosaur and the shark behind him. The boys thought it was hilarious and honed their golf skills

Out on the Water
We had an amazing time when we rented a pontoon boat for the morning and cruised around the bay.
There were many drivers.
Jack's favorite spot was on the front of the boat so he could see everything.
Then we did more cruising
On our way back a pod of dolphins swam right by our boat!
Everyone was excited!
Luke and Kate didn't love their life jackets, but made the best of it.
We anchored at the shore for awhile and played and swam
It was a great ending to a great morning!
