Feeling Cajun

We started working on our summer bucket list by visiting The Creole Nature Trail Adventure Point Museum.

We hunted...

We made Cajun food like boudin and crawfish

We went crabbing

And played both Zydeco and Cajun music.

It was a fun outing capped off by fried chicken at Raising Canes!

Happy Birthday to Me

I turned 34 this week. Since Luke had a baseball game on my birthday, we celebrated the night before with crawfish and chocolate cake and a game of Life.

I also got a fancy new vacuum - a Dyson ball!!

And Kate peed on the potty for the first time as her birthday gift!

I also got sung to in Primary with the coolest hat ever!

Happy birthday to me!

Wet and Wild

Our Primary had a super fun activity. First we did a service project where we colored pictures for an organization that delivers them to anyone who might be lonely - servicemen, elderly, etc.

Then we headed outside to get wet!

We played Duck, Duck, Sploosh

Fill the Water Bottle - on your partners head!

Had an epic water balloon fight

And busted out the HUGE slip b slide.

We finished with Popsicles and lots of smiles!

Season Enders

Our busy baseball season has come to s close. Jack finished off a fun season playing teeball with the Red Sox

Their final game was an epic matchup - Red Sox vs Yankees. Jack had some good plays and some good runs.

He also spent four days attending Blankenship Baseball Camp, put on by the high school baseball team. They worked on hitting and catching. Despite the heat, he learned a lot.

Luke and the Astros finished off their season of Weeball in the rain. They got a little wet, but were able to play since the lightning held off until just as their game ended.

They were thrilled to get their trophies.

Coach Richard said Luke was the best listener on the team and he's going to try to get him on his team again next year!

Here's to a great 2016 season!!

Park Days

In the first few days of summer, these two have been arguing a lot. So we've been trying to get out to the park to get a break from the bickering

There's been fun in the sun at the splash pad

Digging for dinosaur bones

See saws

Climbing

And sliding

It's always fun to get outside!

First Grade Awards Day

Jack had an awesome first grade awards day at school. When his name was called, he was given the most awards in his class. Citizen of the Year, Banner Roll all year, Outstanding Conduct, Outstanding Work Habits, Highest AR Comprehension, Most AR Points, and Most AR Words Read.

He is such an amazing boy and has really come into his own this year. We have loved his teacher, Mrs Moon, and the confidence she has given him. His love for reading has definitely grown.

To celebrate, he choose to go to his favorite place, Tony's Pizza, for lunch.

We are so proud of this kid!

Summer is Coming!

The weather is warming up and we pulled out all our summer fun activities. We slid on the slip n slide

Posed and did some sunbathing

Played in the kiddie pool

And the big pool.

These water babies spent four hours in the pool!

We are ready for summer!
