Pinewood Derby

Jack was invited to participate in the Pinewood Derby this year. 

The decorations were very cute! 

There was a big group of boys participating since our troop includes two wards 

They are a pretty silly group!

Our competitive boy came in sixth place and was very disappointed despite winning his earlier heats and being in a tough bracket. His car is the purple and red racer. 

Despite the loss, it was a fun and memorable night! 

Season Ender

Jack had a great basketball season. The last game was very intense. Both teams were very aggressive and wanted to win. Jack even got thrown to the floor a few times, but was right back up guarding the guy again. Our team ended up pulling off the win. 

We liked Coach Chris because he knew how to talk to Jack's competitive, perfectionist nature. He managed to keep him calm (which isn't always easy!). 

They had a fun party at Fox's pizza, complete with cookie cake, basketball hoop hats, and party favors.

Seuss Fun

In honor of Dr Seuss' birthday, the boys had a dress up week at school. 

Day 1 - The Kid in the Hat day where they wore silly hats

Day 2 was Fox in Socks Day with crazy socks. 

Day 3 was red shirt day like three cat in the hat. 

Day 4 was Character Dress Up Day. Luke was Superboy from Good Morning Superman!

And Jack was Dog Man! 

They had fun and looked cute!

Sand&Science

During Mardi Gras break, we spent a morning at the children's museum. We even went to a science demonstration and made gak and other gooey messes. 

Afterward we picked up some lunch and had a picnic at the beach. 

It was a good way to end the break

This year we skipped the parades, but we didn't skip the food 

We also spent time at the hunting lease taking care of a hog problem. There was a shoot out, and this guy did not come out unscathed 

We got to watch him be skinned, and now we have more pork in our freezer. 

We enjoyed the warm beautiful day 

And took some fun four wheeler rides. 

And visited the deer stands. 

It was a fun Fat Tuesday!

Love Day

The kids were super excited for Valentine's Day and worked hard on their Valentine's 

I won some Valentine's leggings so I was looking cool for the day.  

We heart attacked the kids' doors with things we love about them and they got candy and a book. 

But the big event of the day...the arrival of our new oven and stove. Isn't it beautiful??

Sleeping Beauty

Kate is a big girl now and no longer sleeps in a crib! 

She was thrilled to have her big girl bed. It was an adjustment the first little while. She used her new found freedom to get up and explore 

But now she is sleeping soundly and loving her new bed!
