We Wish You An Early Christmas

Merry Christmas Eve! We are celebrating early here since Dallin is working Christmas.  We built a gingerbread house.

Ate our Christmas Eve gumbo

And got our new Christmas pjs!

We opened all of our presents from each other and had a fun morning playing with our new toys.

We finished the night roasting marshmallows on Daddy's new firepit!

Merry Christmas!

Light Up the Lake

We heard about Light Up the Lake and decided to check it out!

Downtown was lit with all the beautiful lights.

We got to enjoy the Christmas parade

We did bring the Grinch along this time and he complained the entire time

There was a special lighting ceremony where they lit up all the lights around the Civic Center.

We loved the boat parade.

The boys looked beautiful and were throwing all the prizes.

We capped off the night with fireworks.

So much beauty in all the lights!

Riding the Christmas Train

Each year the Kansas City Southern Line brings their Christmas train to town for a visit.

The train was full of Christmas spirit.  There were lots of fun displays and elves.

And of course the the jolliest of elves was there!

Sadly, our big boy thinks he's too big for this kind of stuff and declined to come.  Why do they have to grow up?

Mountains of Mystery

Jack worked hard on his Social Studies Fair project this year and his hard work paid off!  His project was on the mysterious Anasazi Tribe who built the cliff dwellings in New Mexico.

He won 1st place and BEST IN SHOW! Now he's off to the regional fair in February!

Thanksgiving in Dallas

Since we were going to be all alone on Thanksgiving, our Dallas cousins took us in and we had a great time spending the holiday with them.

We had tons of delicious food.

And with that many kids, you few drinks

The kids had fun playing together and building their friendships.

We also enjoyed lots of naps by the fire on the cold, wet weekend.

So grateful for our cousins moving closer so we can hopefully see them more often!

Take the Next Right Step

Everyone was bumming that Daddy headed out for his first shift working in North Dakota, so we consoled ourselves by going to the movies to see Frozen 2.  It was great, although some parents made Kate feel scared.

Then we headed to the skateboard park so our skater dude can practice his moves.

We all took turns and there were a few spills, but thankfully no injuries.

We survived our first day without Daddy!
