Our family has been battling sickness since Thanksgiving. Jack has had it the worst and has basically been sick in some form the whole time. When we were in Utah he developed a cough. It kept getting progressively worse, but nothing else seemed to be wrong. Eventually I took him to the doctor. He didn't hear anything and prescribed a cough syrup and Singulair.
The next night Jack started a fever. It kept getting worse all weekend, getting up to 103. He just laid around the house, moaning and in misery. Motrin and Tylenol didn't do much. So I took him back to the doctor on New Year's Eve morning. After taking blood and a chest x-ray, the doctor concluded he had pneumonia. To get treatment going immediately, they gave him a shot of antibiotics. He hated that and walks with a little limp still. Luckily a sucker cured the pain.
Jack has been resting and taking a lot of medicine to help with the recovery. Thankfully we caught it early enough that he didn't have to be hospitalized. He seemed a little better this morning. His fever isn't as high and he has a little more energy. We are trying to get him to eat a little more to build up his strength.
So needless to say, we didn't do much this New Year's Eve. We had hot dogs with the J-Dawg's sauce we picked up in Utah. Luke ran around in his pjs. We shot off fireworks for a few minutes. Luke couldn't decide if he loved them or hated them. He was half laughing, half crying the whole time. Dallin watched the LSU game and I went to bed at 9pm to be ready for the night shift nurse duty.
Hopefully 2013 shapes up after a rough start!

Oh, poor guy!!! I hope he feels better soon and you all get well!! That J-Dawg sauce looks yummy! :)
