Castle Howard and York

Lily was kind and let us go exploring without the kids one day. With Brian as our your guide, we visited the beautiful Castle Howard. Some of the Howard family still lives in part, and they show the rest to visitors. It was amazing!

There were huge gardens. 

And the inside was amazing! It was also decorated for Christmas! 

The dome was destroyed in a fire during WWII, but was rebuilt when Brideshead Revisited was filmed there years later. 

We also went to York and visited York Minster, the cathedral. 

It was also where Constantine was crowned emperor. 

We explored it from bottom - including the Roman ruins in the basement 

To the top. We climbed almost 300 winding steps to teach the top of York Minster. 

We even have proof we made it!

We explored around the bustling streets of York. 

And enjoyed some hot chocolate before returning to our fan club that had a great time at the park with Nana.
