Ya Got Mud On Your Face

When I was little, I was known for enjoying eating mud and dirt. Well, it seems my son has followed in my footsteps.

He recently discovered the joys of the dirt and mud.

He was very upset when I told him he couldn't eat the mud, only play with it.
(Hey I thought I was being a nice mom by just letting him play in it!)
Although the pictures don't show it, there's was a lot of anger and tears when I pulled him away from the mud.
But don't worry, I'm not the only mean one.
Aunt Cassidy was visiting and took him outside to play.
He tried his mud-eating tricks with her and she said no.
They came back in very quickly, with an angry little man!

Road Tripping

We recently road tripped to California.

In anticipation of the trip, we upgraded Jack to a throne style car seat in hopes of a few less tears on the drive.

The King donned his shades and was very cool, travelling in style.

He was pretty good, for the most parts, with only a few breakdowns.

It helped that we split the trip up into two parts and stayed the night in Vegas on our there and back.

On our way back, we were upgraded to a suite.
It was awesome.

Jack got his very own room to set up his Pack N Play.
He had his own flat screen TV and Mom and Dad had their own in their room.

His favorite thing about the room was the view.
He couldn't get enough of staring out the window.

He tried to hijack Mommy and Daddy's awesome bed, but they kicked him out.

He also loved the big Jacuzzi tub!

Let's hope we get upgraded every time we travel!!

Beach Bum

Jack is definitely a beach bum...

While we never had a nice beach day while in California, we did take a little walk and play for a little bit. Jack loved every minute of it.

He loved digging in the sand and thought it was funny when his dad buried him in the sand.

He even wrote his name in the sand.

He was very upset when it was time to go and cried the whole way back to the car.

He can't wait for his next visit to the beach!

4th of July Fun

On the day of the 4th, we kept busy.

We started out the day by going to church, then had a nice nap.

Afterwards, we headed over to Aunt Shari's house.

Jack was fascinated by Reggie the dog.

He did some swimming with Aunt Sass and Daddy.

We had lots of yummy BBQ.

By the time the fireworks started, Jack was extremely tired and a little nervous.

Eventually he relaxed and enjoyed the show.

In fact, he relaxed so well, that he fell asleep in the midst of the fireworks.

It was a great 4th - my favorite holiday!

Ahoy, Captain

When we were in California, we were able to go out on the boat one day.

Jack got in his life jacket and hopped aboard.
He loves his Aunt Sassy.

At first, he was very unsure about the boat.
But once Daddy dipped him in the water, he realized he really liked it.

Dallin was a crazy tuber.
He went around so many times, despite the choppy water.

Our little pink ball fell asleep while we went around so many times.

Once he woke up, he was ready for more boating.

He had such a great time that he had to play on the boat once we were home.
Whenever he was grumpy, we'd just put him on the boat and he'd pretend he was driving.
And suddenly he was happy again!

Parade O Fun

We went to Ojai, CA to celebrate a good old fashioned Ojai 4th of July.

On the 3rd, we hit up the parade.

Jack, waiting for the parade to begin

He dressed up in his red, white, and blue.
Such a patriotic baby!

Don't worry, he kept hydrated throughout the parade.
He loved sucking on the water bottle.

His favorite part of the parade was when the motorcycles went by.
It must be because his dad is a cool motorcycle dude.

We enjoyed visiting with friends...

and lots...
and lots of family.

It was so much fun, it just wore poor Jack out.
He fell asleep before the end and slept through the firetruck's sirens as they carried Smokey the Bear by.
He had to go home and rest up for his next round of 4th of July fun!

Fisherbaby

Jack helped his Daddy do some fishing one day.

Helping organize the tackle box.

Headed down to the lake.
Nothing was going to stop him from helping with the fishing.

His favorite part was shaking the tupperware full of bait.
Yummy!

"Daddy, give me the fishing pole!"

Jack's just disappointed he didn't get invited to go deep sea fishing with the boys!
