Birthday Fun

This week Uncle Andrew has been getting more mail at our house than we have.

Do you know why?

Because Wednesday was his birthday!

We had the uncles over for cherry cobbler and almost burned the house down with all 22 of those candles!

Andrew got lots of Cougar gear - what else do you get the ultimate BYU fan?

Funny story about his present from us - we knew we should get him something BYU, so we went to the Bookstore on Tuesday to find the perfect gift. Guess who was there browsing the BYU memorabilia? Andrew, of course. He showed us a cool BYU license plate cover for Black Bullet, his scooter, and I tried to be sneaky and buy it when he wasn't looking. At least we got him something we know he likes!

Rudolph the Red Nosed Baby

Sometimes Jack's legs get going too fast for his little body to keep up.

Today, he got going too fast on the sidewalk and face planted.

Poor guy caught himself with his hands, but had too much momentum, and his face still managed to hit the sidewalk.

Throughout the day his nose has looked progressively more red.

Now I think he may be ready to guide Santa's sleigh...

Nursery Baby

Jack is at an awkward age - the age where he's too young for nursery, but in desperate need of somewhere to go during church. Mom and Dad are sick of chasing him around the halls.

So today I took Jack to nursery and stayed with him, since he's still got 3 months until he's legit.

It made church so much happier for all of us.

And Jack looked so big.

He played with the other kids.

He had some snacks.

He colored a picture of Jesus.

He sang some songs.

It's crazy to see my little man looking like a big boy!

And we can't wait until he is officially a nursery boy!

The Stowaway

This is Farmer Jack.
Jack likes to play with Farmer Jack while he's getting his diaper changed or his pajamas on at night. Last night Jack was playing with Farmer Jack while getting ready for bed. Soon I noticed that Farmer Jack had disappeared, but assumed that he had gotten thrown over the edge of the changing table, as that is pretty common. I thought nothing of it.

Last night, at 2:30am, I putting Jack to bed for the 4th time that night, and felt something in his pants. I pulled it out and, lo and behold, there was Farmer Jack. He decided to stowaway in Jack's pants for the night. The strange thing was that I didn't feel him while putting Jack to put the first time, or the three subsequent times after that. Apparently Farmer Jack is just sneaky like that.

The Breakfast Chef

Jack has become quite the little cook these days.

He loves to help make all the meals.

He pours things and stirs things.

This morning he took it to another level by making French toast for breakfast.

Flip those babies, Jack!

Mr. Independent

Jack is getting more and more independent.

He now insists on feeding himself most of the time.

He struggles to get food on the spoon or fork, but is pretty good at getting it into his mouth.

And he eats a lot more if we let him do it himself.

He gets annoyed with us when we try to feed him.

He's growing up so fast!

Jack Vs. The Vacuum

This is what I face every time I vacuum.

A crazy man on my tail that throws balls and screams at me.

It's pretty intimidating.

I'm pretty sure that the vacuum is scared too.

Aren't you scared just looking at the face?
