A Tent of Many Purposes

We gave Jack this tent for his birthday.

It has more parts, but this is the part that stays up all the time.

Jack uses it for many things.

He hides "special" things in there. I have found dish towels, spatulas, clothes, shoes, the dustpan, the remote, etc., etc. If something is missing, that's the first place I look.

Jack often disappears inside to take care of his "business." If I hear grunting come from the tent, I know I'm in trouble.

Jack loves to play the game "I'm gonna get you!" Whenever we say those words to him, he takes off running, laughing hysterically, and dives into his tent. He will peek back out until we say those hilarious words again and then away he goes. It is so much fun!

I'm so glad we got him such a multi-functional gift for his birthday!

Getting Into His Groove

Since Jack has had his uncles staying with him this week, he has discovered ear buds and is fascinated by the fact that sound comes out of them.

This afternoon Dallin got his iPod and let Jack listen.

He had the time of his life dancing to that awesome music only he could hear.

Hiking Baby

We took a little walk in the canyon and came home with a wet baby.

Don't Forget Your Hard Hat!

Today we went on a walk up to campus with Uncle Andrew.
Jack insisted upon walking part of the way and soon discovered a construction zone.

He could not pull himself away.
Uncle Andrew had to leave us there while Jack observed.

He even got to chat with a construction worker!

I think he may want to work with heavy machinery when he grows up!

The Third...

Tuesday was our third anniversary. This year was kind of low key (no trips to Vegas like 2 years ago), since I'm still recovering from my surgery, Dallin had to work, and Jack was being kind of a stinker. But we still had a good time.

We met Dallin for lunch and then that afternoon he came home with these beautiful roses...

and a bottle of Martinelli's Grape (my favorite).

We went to dinner at Olive Garden (delicious!) and got a dessert to go.

At home we watched our wedding video and took our annual family portrait to put on the side of the blog..

After we put Jack to bed, we watched a movie, ate our dessert, and enjoyed our Sparkling Cider.

Happy Anniversary, Dallin!

Out Of Commission

If you are a very faithful reader of this blog, you may have noticed that I haven't been blogging over the last few weeks. I had surgery last week to remove a cyst from my ovary and have been out of commission while I recover.

Dallin was awesome and played Mr. Mom and nurse for the first few days. He took care of Jack, entertained him, changed all diapers, and got up with him in the night, plus made sure that I was comfortable. He is a champ!

My brother Will also helped out once Dallin went back to work. He came over in the mornings before he had to go to work and entertained Jack. They went outside and played, plus they did some laundry together, which Jack loves.

We had dinner brought to us every night for 5 nights straight. Our friends Susie and Carole brought dinner the first night. And then somehow the Relief Society got wind that I was laid up (even though I didn't really tell anybody about it) and arranged meals for the rest of the week. It was awesome to have dinner ready every night, plus it was super tasty!

Jack was able to go play at a friend from our ward's house one day. I was worried because he hasn't ever been left with anyone he wasn't related to, and even then he had some issues. But I hear he was awesome and had a great time. Maybe we might need to arrange some playdates.

I am feeling better, just still a little sore and tired. I'm hoping things heal up soon so I can start wearing real pants again. Right now I'm kind of stuck wearing things with stretchy waists, since my incisions are right on the waist line. Jack and I are also looking forward to hitting the pool again. We haven't been in over two weeks now and we're losing our tans!

And as for Jack...

He noticed things weren't getting done around the house and took it upon himself to do some cleaning...

He's been trying to sweep the floors, as well as unload the laundry from the dryer.

Yet, despite his cleaning ways, why does our living room always seem to look like this?

And yesterday, my keys went missing. We scoured the house for hours looking for them. Dallin even dug through the trash looking. Finally, that night, they were found in a basket in his room where we keep random odds and ends. What a little stinker!

Time Flies...

Can you believe it's already been 3 years?

Happy Anniversary to Us!
