Exploring Our New Territory

We spent Friday exploring some of the Louisiana sites.
We decided to drive to the Gulf.
We took the long route in hopes of seeing an alligator and ended up having to cross on a ferry boat.
It was pretty exciting to have our car on a boat.
Jack had fun digging in the sand.

Then he began collecting shells.

After a walk down the beach, he and his daddy had filled up his bucket with shells.
They were both pretty proud of their collection.

After our visit to the Gulf, we stopped at a wetland preserve to see if maybe we might see an alligator.

Despite walking all over the preserve, the only wild life we saw was one nutra rat. Yuck!
I guess it must be too cold for the gators at this point.
I'm sure we'll have the pleasure of seeing a gator eventually.

Luke was a good little boy and hung out in his car seat or carrier all day without much of a peep.
We had fun learning about and seeing more of our new state!
